Heyy everyone!! It’s Nicole and here’s my entry for the Christmas Contest. Hope you enjoy~

Characters: Daehwi, Woojin

Word Count: 910 words

“Hwi!! You have to wake up and see this!!”

“Come on, get up!!”

Daehwi grumbled, reaching out to snatch the comfy sheets back from his roommate and best friend, Woojin. The boys had some pretty hard-core practice last night to prepare for the end-of-year award shows and Daehwi’s body is exhausted to the point where he just wants to sleep for the whole day.

“Hwi!! It’s White Christmas!!”

Oh my god, can he— Wait, what?? White Christmas?! Which means snow?!

Daehwi eyes immediately fluttered open, as he jumped out of bed. Woojin is rolling on the floor laughing — not literally — as he watches his best friend run out the bedroom and towards the door. He followed Daehwi and wasn’t surprised to see him already playing around in the snow.

“Come play with me!!” Daehwi invited happily, his eyes turning into adorable slits whenever he smiled. Woojin ed the coats he thankfully took, before exiting the house and quickly draped one around Daehwi to prevent him from getting a cold.

“It’s funny how excited you are for White Christmas, I mean you’re still in your pyjamas and didn’t even brush your teeth.” Woojin said, chuckling as he spoke.

Daehwi rolled his eyes. “Please, you’re just as excited as I am. You almost broke my arm when you woke me up back then.”

Woojin blushed a little as he put on his coat. “Watch out!!” He shouted as he threw a snowball towards Daehwi direction.

“Wha- Hey!!” Daehwi exclaimed, barely dodging the snow and quickly squatting down to make his own snow weapon.

Ohh, he’s sooo going to pay for this.

Daehwi perfected his snowball and was glad to see Woojin not paying attention to him. He quietly sneaked up behind Woojin and threw the snow against his exposed neck. Daehwi laughed so hard, when his roommate let out a high pitched scream, falling forward face first on the ground.

“Daehwi!!” Woojin complained, sulking, when he saw Daehwi rubbing tears from his eye, due to laughing too much. An idea appeared and a smirk formed on Woojin’s face. While Daehwi is busy getting the laugh out of his system, Woojin is already working on another snowball and without announcing, walks up to Daehwi and pressed it right in his face.

That shut him up.

Betrayal flashed across Daehwi’s features as he stood in shock at the sudden act. Woojin returned back to his laughing state, not forgetting to add a smug grin in the end to complete the look.

After some time of hitting each other and playing in the snow, Daehwi and Woojin were beginning to feel the chill and decided it was best for them to head back home. They dried themselves off with some towels and Woojin offered to make some hot chocolate while Daehwi attempted to warm himself in front of the fireplace. Well, it isn’t a legit fireplace, it’s just lights which radiates heat, but it’s close enough to a fireplace. Not long after, Woojin came back and Daehwi was still shivering.

“Here’s your drink.” Woojin said, taking his seat next to Daehwi.

“T-Thanks.” Daehwi replied, reaching out to take his mug from Woojin with trembling hands.

Woojin looked at him worriedly, quickly putting down his own mug and taking his best friend’s hands into his own. He rubbed them a few times before blowing on them, trying to warm Daehwi up. Although the way Woojin was treating him made Daehwi feel like he’s a kid, he couldn’t hide the fact that he secretly enjoyed the way Woojin always looked out for him.

“Feeling better?” Woojin asked, peering up to look at Daehwi, who was already staring at him.

Daehwi coughed and looked away, blushing while giving him a nod, harder than he would’ve imagined.

Oh my god, you’re being so obvious right now and it’s not even funny. Woojin’s got to be a stone to not figure that out.

Woojin smiled innocently and turned to retrieve his mug, taking careful sips of hot chocolate. Daehwi stared at him in shock.

Did he really not notice that or is he pretending that he didn’t notice that?

Daehwi decided to try again to prove his point. He snuggled closer to Woojin, shivering a little to make it more believable.

“Actually I’m still a little cold from being in the snow.” Daehwi said, sniffling for more effect.

He’s got to realize it by now, right?

“Oh no, that’s terrible! I’m so sorry if I went a bit too far with the snow.” Woojin said apologetically, his face screaming pure concern and naivety and Daehwi just wants to scream and face palm himself.

Daehwi was about to laugh it off and say that it was a joke, when Woojin suddenly put an arm around his shoulder, bringing him closer. Daehwi froze.

“Erm... Hyung?”

Woojin gave him the cutest smile ever. “I realize that I’m feeling a little cold myself too. I thought we could both warm each other up like this. Do you feel warmer now?”

Daehwi’s cheeks felt like it was on fire as he immediately looked down, not wanting his roommate to see his face.

“Yeah.” Daehwi replied, as soft as a mumble and Woojin giggled.

“You’re so cute.” Woojin said, while pinching Daehwi’s cheeks.

Throughout my entire life, this is one of the best Christmas I’ve ever celebrated.
