I'd say yes because of Alexander's letters and the fact that he was born and raised on an island where sodomy was common. I don't know Laurens' perspective on their relationship at all though.
Thats what I was thinking. Also, we have 'dear boy' and 'dear girl' aka his nicknames for him and his wife
