Water Balloon Fight: My Thoughts

My Final Blog of the Challenge

ACA’s Water Balloon Fight is coming to end, and I’ve had so much participating! I wanted my last blog of this challenge to be a reflection of some of my favorite blogs, as well as how I think this changed ACA’s activity, if only for the few weeks this lasted.

So let’s get started!

I originally saw the s’ post regarding the Water Balloon Fight the day it was posted. I had not been super active, and really only hopped on to work with the Catalog Service (some of my favorite people).

I was also planning a hiatus that happened to fall in between two of the weeks of the challenge and had thought to myself, “There’s no way I’ll be able to participate, let alone pull my weight.” I closed the app, and that was that.

I kept thinking about the challenge though, and how much fun I’ve had with other ones like the Boss Battle Reboot and the Snowball Fight. I also knew that due to real life and the constant changes, this was likely going to be my last chance in participating in something like this on Amino.

So on the last day to enter, I made the decision to do just that! I didn’t know how I was going to pull off getting enough posts out, but I did know that I was going to pull it off one way or another. And that’s where my planning began!

My Team

The first thing was getting assigned to a team! As you know from my hashtags in my other blogs, I was in Team Clove, and I was lucky enough for my team leader to be Angel! We’re good friends and work well together, so I was happy to see her.

I was also lucky enough to be paired with two people that I had not previously met! Rae and Mochi are both very kind and I’m happy to have been able to be on the same team as them!

My Plans on Posting and How I was Able to Stick to It

So that hiatus? Yeah, that was my biggest hurdle for this challenge. I decided to make a list of some things I’d like to post, and I added to that list every day.

I wanted to make enough blogs so I could post every other day, even while I was away from my Switch. So any spare time I had, whether it was in the morning, at night before bed, or even between household chores I took that window to create and draft blogs.

I made/worked on between two and four blogs each day before my hiatus began.

I had previously thought that the last day to post was the 15th of July, so I decided to make 15 blogs to post every other day. I figured out by June 19th that the deadline was actually the 13th of July, but I had set a goal and decided to just post daily those last few days of the challenge. I actually ended up posting more than my goal!

When I was low on ideas, whether my previous plans didn’t excite me or whatever the case was, I used what was happening that particular day on my island to make a blog! So whatever happened that I was excited about or proud of was what I posted, and it turned out well!

At the end of the day, it wasn’t supposed to be stressful. I wanted to have fun, so I only made posts that invoked that mood in me, whether it ended up with the blog being big or small.

And guess what? I had fun making every single blog. That’s what it’s all about anyway.

Everyone that participated in the Water Balloon Fight brought their A-game! I enjoyed EVERY POST that I saw, here’s a few of my favorites though!

How I Saw The Community Change

Within these few weeks (the ones that I’ve been active on!) I feel like I saw a more lively feed than what we’ve seen in a long time. And you could say, well duh because of all the people participating in the challenge, but it wasn’t just those particular s. I saw others post too.

Some posts were the usual “looking for, selling” posts, which is completely fine! I make those too. But many of them were creative posts, whether someone was sharing their art or their in-game designs, there was an abundance of beautiful posts!

My honest thoughts are that this challenge was able to either inspire other people to show off their skills, or while seeing everyone else post, they felt comfortable enough to post their ideas and creations. Either way it’s been awesome seeing the community come together for this challenge!

Pride Crossing was also happening too! I also think that challenge was a big help in getting people to post.

Final Opinions

All in all, I’d say this was another successful amino-wide challenge! I never saw very many people on at one time, (that’s become the normal) but I did see some very creative posts and kind comments come out of the past four weeks, and quite regularly too!

I hope that the next team-based challenge is even more successful!
