As you can see, this amphibian is the size of a fingernail. That’s really really small; however, this animal has a very poisonous skin to protect themselves against predators.
The poisonous dart frogs have incredible combinations of bright colors to alert predators of their high toxicity. This characteristic makes them so diverse and beautiful which is one of my favorite things about them.

These frogs are endemic to Central and South America’s rain forests. I learned about them on my trip to Costa Rica, I also got to see a lot of them and just fell in love with their unbelievable size and colors.
They are so cute that they make you want to pick them up and kiss them, but then you might die, so . . .
