Did you know that flowers have meanings associated with them? And, that there are flowers befitting specific occasions?

Flowers are a part of the most important occasions in our lives. They are conspicuously present on birthdays, funerals, graduation, weddings, etc. forming an integral part of our lives. Some flowers have religious significance too.

It is impossible for any person to be completely unaware of flower meanings.

Everyone knows that a red rose stands for romantic love and that one does not send yellow roses to anyone in mourning. However, meanings are associated not only with roses but also with other flowers.

:white_flower: White Flower

An emoji symbol of a white flower, often a cherry blossom. The Apple artwork contains Japanese text on the inside that translates to mean “Well Done” or “You did very well”. This is used by teachers in Japan as a stamp on school work that is of a high standard, often accompanied by a score written in red.

:blossom: Blossom

A blossoming flower. Similar to the cherry blossom, but not necessarily the same shade.

:sunflower: Sunflower

A sunflower emoji. Bright and yellow. Give it to someone to make them smile!

:hibiscus: Hibiscus

A hibiscus emoji, a pretty flower that can be used to attract butterflies and bees.

:rose: Rose

A single red rose emoji. Sometimes used as a display of romance, or for their pleasant smell.

This can also be used as a display of democratic socialism.

:cherry_blossom: Cherry Blossom

A pretty, light-pink flower in bloom. The cherry blossom is very popular in Japan and Japanese art. Weather forecasts track the cherry blossom front across Japan each year.

🏵 Rosette

A round flower decoration, in a similar shape to a flower blossom. May be found used on ancient sculptures, as well as modern military awards.

:tulip: Tulip

A single tulip emoji. Commonly seen at tulip festivals in locations around the world with a dutch heritage.

Colour Meaning:

Red Flowers

Vibrant, ionate and demanding to be noticed, red is the color of love and romance. Red flowers symbolize courage, respect, constancy, iration and, of course, desire.

Pink Flowers

Delicate light pink hues speak of gentleness, happiness and love. A very romantic flower color, it’s also a symbol of grace and innocence.

Blue Flowers

Peaceful blue is said to convey serenity and openness. A flower delivery of a bouquet containing blue flowers may be a sign to slow down, relax and release the stress.

White Flowers

White flowers can mean reverence and humility, purity and innocence or sympathy for a bereavement. Depending on the type of blooms chosen by your local florists, a bouquet of white flowers can be bold and brilliant, or gentle and self-effacing.

Yellow Flowers

Yellow flowers burst with happiness. They symbolize the bonds of friendship, the taste of success and pride. Joy is also one of the meanings of this flower, as that is one of the feelings the color is said to evoke.

Lavender Flowers

Youth and elegance, grace and refinement. Lavender flowers have a delicate, feminine and old-fashioned touch to them, even when contained in a decidedly modern bouquet.

Orange Flowers

No wallflower, here. Orange is bold, ionate and full of life. It’s no wonder that orange blooms speak of enthusiasm, excitement and exuberance.

Green Flowers

Green flowers represent the optimism of renewal, of spring and of youthfulness. Green flowers in a bouquet are also a wish for good fortune and good health.

Purple Flowers

A royal color, purple flowers symbolize dignity, tradition and success. A bouquet containing purple flowers can be symbols of iration and adoration.
