The Art Journaler October 2017

Welcome everyone to the October issue of the Art Journaler!!!

October is also Inktober and I know several of you plan on participating!! We have also partnered with Mermaiden and the Artistic Challenge Amino to do a collaboration with them using the following prompts.

Inktober was started by Jake Parker in 2009 and follows some pretty simple rules.

So generally Inktober is just done with ink, which by itself is not very mixed media-y, BUT when an ink drawing is done why not add some watercolor, or marker, or colored pencil? Suddenly that ink drawing is now a mixed media one!!!!

The medium of the month is naturally ink!! It can be any type of ink, ball point pen, gel pen, technical pen, fountain pen, dip pen, ink and brush, brush pen, or any other!!!

When working with ink it is important to know that not ink is the same. Some are waterproof some aren’t, some are alcohol marker proof and some aren’t. It is always good to test you ink that you are using to make sure it will work the way you want it too.
