:purple_heart: :blue_heart: Too Deep in Love :blue_heart: :purple_heart: (Contest Entry)

Hello there there everyone! I'm Luna!

I know I'm new and all, but you guys should keep reading this post, I promise you that you will not be disappointed once you reach to the end. For now, enjoy my story of how my first day here in art amino went and what I did for the course of the day!

When I ed, I started to look around the amino like any newbie would do. I saw some pretty sweet art here and there made by amazing people, read through a lot of stuff (which is why there is so many hashtags at the end of the post :joy: ), and skimmed through some chats. There was one chat that caught my attention. That chat was..

For me whenever I see an art contest on a amino, it makes me want to participate since I like to draw in my spare time and I took part in art contests in other aminos such as furry amino and Pokemon RPers Amino in the past. I go and enter the chat, finding out the information on what I the contest about and how do I participate. The task is to draw something in relevance to the various themes that's offered over time weekly (I believe its weekly. Don't quote me on that.) For this round, the theme is "Deep Sea" so anything that relates to that theme would be the required thing to draw. For my entry, I decided to take it to a more personal level.

The first thing that came to mind when I thought deep sea was squids since there are certain species (to my recollection) that live that deep in the water. I was initially planning on drawing myself as a squid girl (if anyone knows the proper name, please tell me in the comments :') ), but I didn't want to be lonesome in the picture. At that moment, my boyfriend messaged me, asking about my day like the not so typical long distance relationship couple we are. So we talked a bit while I was still brainstorming what can I add to make the picture more full if that makes any sense. He began to talk about how he was stoked for that new Splatoon game for a moment, and it made me think "Hey why don't you draw him as a octopus boy (again if anyone knows the proper name please let me know in the comments uwu) using that as a reference along with yourself?". So I decided to do so, using the octolings as a reference for him since he likes the design of them better than the inklings. Few hours later... I drew this in my sketchbook!

Considering I usually digitalize my traditional drawings on my phone with Ibis Paint X, I snapped a picture on my phone and drew while I spoke with my boyfriend. I got to fix up a few things I didn't really like about the traditional drawing onto Ibis and colored it in pretty good to where I'm really happy on how the result came out. I drew myself and my boo smooching it up since I would really would like one right about now but we're on opposite ends of the United States sadly. uwu

After breaking night, I finally finished coloring in the piece! Constructive Criticism is greatly appreciated, but please no rude remarks about the artwork! ;-;

Final Notes

First off, I would like to say thank you to those who read to the end! I just wanted to describe how my first day here in the amino went and show off a art piece to display my art style to you all. Funny story, the cover Picture was drawn by me as a joke to say "heres my entry, its first place worthy" . Had a good laugh about it and whatnot but I wanted to see if I put that as the cover picture if anyone would actually look at this post.
