— this is hal, 1/3 of the academic rivals
— initially an orphan, then he was sponsored by lu's dad after being recognized as a gifted child in the orphanage— the sisters that raised him there wanted him to have a future worthy of his giftedness so they wrote a letter to lu's dad, a well known philanthropist and suddenly he had a better shot in life.
— he still lived in the orphanage up until he was able to move out with money saved up, but he would still visit often. visiting the sisters that raised him and meeting new kids as well. he tends to help out as well and would often teach kids there when he had the time.
— the "gift" the sisters would call was his eidetic memory, so his recall and consumption of knowledge made him an academic powerhouse almost immediately. this gift made him an anomaly in his highschool where he attended with his other two rivals.
— given the opportunity to explore, he picked an extracurricular to try out and befriended mamba in their mma training. hanging out with mamba, and having a lot in common with her— he basically learned to love the power of working out and debating. he would excel in school and is currently fighting for first place with the other two.
— given his photographic memory, he is quite messy, since he knows where everything is already, so he doesn't feel the need to clean.
— his competitiveness comes from his newly found greed, from having nothing to suddenly having everything.
