ONLY FILL THIS OUT IF YOU PARTICIPATED IN OUR GW ART FIGHT
This was our squads first ever art fight, there was a lot of ups and a lot of downs. What we need to know is what you thought were the biggest issues and the best attributes.
So below please let us know what you liked about the event and what we should keep doing and suggest what we can do to make those things even better.
And let us know what you didn’t like and what we should get rid of, like maybe a rule or maybe you want us to change the scores, etc.
Please be respectful and don’t out anyone directly as well.

Not sure if these have been suggested yet but
1) make the event longer. I think the event was only around 2 weeks long and in my opinion there isn’t enough time to do anything. Some people also have school and other irl events they need to do so it’ll be difficult for some to find time to draw before the deadline
2) make counters count in the drawing minimum. 5 drawings isn’t a bad amount but it’s harder to reach if attacks only count. It also would disencourage people to do a counter if they don’t count in the amount of drawings needed
3) make our intro into a wiki instead of a post. Not only would it be easier to access and find but you can also link your counter and attack posts making it easier to calculate the posts and keep things organized
4) have a different end date for attacks and a different end date for counters. Have the counter date end 2 days after the attack date that way people would have time to counter
5) have different points depending on how much effort is given into a drawing. A lot of people can just do a sketchy headshot and get the same amount of points as someone who does a fullbody detailed with background drawing. As you can see it isn’t fair to those who put a lot of time and effort into a drawing. It would also encourage people to try put more effort in their drawings. I know not all people have the same skill level or access to materials so maybe there can be a away room factor in effort?
I just don’t find it fair because I some people go all out with their drawings and some people can do something with not that much effort
All those points have been mentioned already and we have decided to fix majority of them
We will make the next event around a month long and it was only 2 weeks this time because it was essentially our practice round for our first art fight.
Wikis will be made next time for intros and tags will be reduced and new point systems will be out in place. And we suggested lowering the drawing minimum to 4 instead of five and including counters
As well as changing the scores for counters and attacks so that they aren’t even anymore.

We’d be glad to have you again
I do have a few suggestions. These are just my thoughts so they aren’t perfect.
-I think there were a lot of tags and it got quite confusing. And a lot of people didn’t know what tags to use. Less tags would make it a lot easier for everyone.
-This might be a personal preference but I suggest having scoreboards for each team. Then we can see how our teammates are doing and will encourage s to fight more. And it would also be easier for hosts to tally the scores in the end.
-I also think you need to put clearer rules. Especially for when you attack and counter someone. Recently I found out someone attacked me and had no idea. And also had people counter me without letting me know. Maybe have a clear rule that you have to comment on that person’s intro.
-The attacks also need to be fixed. Since some people got attacked a lot while others barely got attacked. My suggestion is promoting people that barely get attacked, like just sending their intro to the group chat for others to see.
I don’t know how useful this is but I hope it helps you out.
Yes we have decided early on that we would be scrapping majority of the tags in place for a singular number tag or a tag specific to each person so we can find all their posts
And just have people name their posts as either attacks or counters.
Someone also suggested we make a rule where you cannot attack the same person again and must choose a new person each time or limit it to 2 attacks per person so everyone gets attacked and if someone still isn’t attacked we will promote them on a public doc or wiki
And we will also be updating the scores weekly instead of just at the end and announcing which people are in the lead
We don’t want to announce which team is winning or not but people have suggested that by showing some high tankers scores it will encourage people to push forward
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but maybe have the intro posts be wikis so that they can be found on people's pages easier? Because for people with a lot of attacks and counters it could get really difficult to find where their intro post was.
Yes wikis might be a lot better to track and I think we will go with that next time
That and scrapping a lot of the tags in place for maybe a numbered tag. Ex when each person s we assign them a number for their team and when look through posts we search their number tag and have all their posts for that one event lined up :ok_hand:

Oh that could be a good way of doing it!

We are glad you think so
I have a hard time understanding things (thanks autism)
So i might just list stupid stuff
So maybe in the chat description you could list the following like this!
-intro making start date
(This time so you can make ref sheets)
-intro posting start date
-attack start date
-counter start date
-attack end date
(So you can get your counters)
-counter end date
-end date
And have them present from the start and consistent so we can plan!
Also there should be something in place for artists that rarely got attacked and artists that get attacked too much!
I only got attacked twice :,))
Maybe something like
You have to attack everyone before attacking the same person again.
Also there's a problem with getting buried in the tags!
So i think there should also be time date tags so for example:
If i posted my intro post on **
The tag would be GWAF**2020 or something like that
And on the main post theres a link to a post with all the tags for each side!
Im sorry if this sounds stupid lool
Also!
In that tag post! Have a copy and paste version of all the tags so we can copy and paste them into the draft post with our formats in them (if you dont have one, get one! Its really helpful!)
The suggestions on the list of start and end dates is great and we will definitely be applying that to the next round. And I like the idea of having people not attack the same person again until you have attacked others and will definitely bring it up with my co leader
Maybe next time you should have two different deadlines. Like one for attacks and 2days later for counters since I noticed that ppl like stored their attacks til the last day so not many ppl were able to make a counter. (Kinda unfair)
Yes we were actually thinking about having a rule in place about spamming attacks on the very last day. But I think your idea on the separate deadline dates is a good option as well
