Help Wanted

AN: finally started a new note today, not that I’m done with the other one, and it’s so weird not having the app crash every time I open it

After much bickering, and a bit of a pay raise, Anubis finally forked over the location of the two giants. “Look like they’re back in that plaza they were in the other day.” Anubis hummed. “No they ain’t..” Broken said. “I was there an hour ago..” “people move, Broken.” They rolled their eyes. “So get going, they won’t stay there all day.” Broken hung up and headed towards the plaza, making a quick pit-stop first.

”Hey Reeves…” he went and leaned on Riva’s desk. “Do not call me Reeves.” She didn’t even look up from her work. Broken looked around quickly, then leaned down. “I need your help with work, 15K if you’re in..” she looked up so suddenly she hit him right in the jaw. Poor guy can’t catch a break. “What?!”

”Keep quiet…” he huffed. “What do you mean 15K.” She hissed. “Like, dollars?” He smiled and winked. “Like, dollars…” Riva finished her work in a few minutes and grabbed his hand, walking off. “Not by the nurses office..” he pulled her back. “Remus won’t pet me fuckin’ ears if he knows I’m walkin’ around right now..”

She turned and looked at him with that angry mom glare. “What do you mean by that? As in you’re hurt?” Broken pulled her around the long way. “Wouldn’t say that exactly, more ‘in compromised health’…” “you’re hurt.” She said flatly. “Oh, all kinds..” he nodded. Riva sighed and shook her head, following him out to his truck. “So what is this about?”

”Murder…” coming from literally anyone else that would be worrying, for Broken it’s a Monday. “It’s what?!” She stopped in the middle of buckling herself in. “My god you’re surprised about a lot..” he flicked his ear, turning the truck on and pulling away. “What else would it be about..?” Riva rubbed her face. “Are you- are you asking me, to help you with murder?!” “Well when you put it that way it sounds bad..” he smiled.

They drove back to the plaza, that Broken had already checked, and parked in front of it. “If these bastards ain’t here this time I’m goin’ home and takin’ a nap..” he walked over to the doors and kicked them open this time, he’s got people to impress. He’s also got a fractured rib. “Fuck-“ he hunched over and wheezed. Riva crouched down and rubbed his back. “Are you alright?” He nodded, waving her off. “Yeah-“

She gave him an unconvinced look but stood up. Broken followed suit after a minute, wiping his mouth. “Oh, you again.” One of the giants said absently. “You want your other ribs cracked too?” Riva looked up at them. “What the hell…” he shrugged and walked over to them. “You’re askin’ me..” she scrambled to keep up with him. “Wait what am I supposed to do? I can’t get all the way up there.”

He looked down and flicked his tail, hands in his pockets. “You just gotta shock em till they’re down, I’ll get the rest..” Riva watched him walked closer, her feet fixed in place. It finally hit her what was going on. Broken wanted her to actually kill someone. Or at the very least help kill someone.
