As much as I want to spend the next twelve chapters talking about Broken and Remus hanging out with Broken’s family we really do need to get a move on. They spent the next two days there, mostly just saying goodbyes and generally getting ready to leave.

They didn’t leave in the morning like most people would expect, they actually ended up staying all the way till dinner. Mostly because Broken was afraid Razor’s mother would strap him to the couch if he didn’t just agree. The kids spent most of their time upstairs playing games, Broken’s brothers wanted to spend as much time with him as possible before he leaves. Even the usually reclusive Branch stayed upstairs to watch.

”Broken will you take me to see momma after dinner?” Bolt tugged on his sleeve. Remus, Razor and their other brothers tensed, they knew how jumpy and tense Broken had been since he went to see his mothers grave just the once. He smiled and shook his head, ruffling his hair. “I’ll take you if you really wanna kid…” Bolt smiled and crawled into his lap, watching the others play games on the TV happily.

”Alright kids, dinner.” Razor’s father said after a little while. The kids excitedly went downstairs, settling at the table. Broken carried Remus down and just.. held Remus in his lap. At the dinner table. Like with his family. “I can sit in my own chair.” Remus smiled. “And..? C’n sit in me lap too..” Broken rested his chin on his head, hugging his waist. “Not like it’s a fuckin’ crime..”

Razor’s mother smiled and brought out a big plate of meatloaf. Broken barely waited for his plate to be filled before he started eating, not even trying to make conversation. Remus smiled and shook his head, eating his food. “Don’t eat too fast dear, you’ll choke.” He rolled his eyes and ignored his advice. The certified nurse. Broken probably deserves to choke after that.

Alas they finished dinner with no such incident, everyone made it to dessert. After they finished eating Broken went to get his boots on. “Alright, c’mon kid..” Bolt smiled and hopped over, getting his shoes on. Remus rolled over and fixed Broken’s jacket, wiping dust off the sleeves. “Do you want me to go with you dear?”

”You can come if you wanna..” he shrugged. “I’ll stay here, it’s a hassle to go out.” He hummed. “It’s not a hassle to bring you out..” Broken kissed the top of his head. “‘M strong.. c’n carry you..” he smiled and reached up for a proper kiss. “I’ll stay here. Why don’t you and Razor take Bolt.” He purred and leaned down, kissing Remus. “If you’re sure you wanna stay home…”

”Who said my name.” Razor poked around the corner. Broken walked over and hauled her over his shoulder. “Headin’ out.. be back soon..” “put me down!” She wiggled around. He flicked his tail and set her on her feet, waiting while she got her shoes on. “Get out.. both of you..” he held the door open. “Goodbye dear.” Remus smiled and waved them off. Once they were out of sight he went back to search for Razor’s parents. “Can I ask you two something?”
