AN: if Eve likes the kids so much maybe she should keep them

Broken and Remus got lost in their conversation. They talked and giggled and teased and flirted, walking for blocks. They stopped in the nearby park and settled down by a tree. Remus wiggled out of his chair and got comfortable in Broken’s lap as he looked up at the darkening sky. “You’re in the way..” Broken dragged him back into his jacket, zipping it around the both of them.

”Will you tell me about the stars?” He looked at the twinkling dots beyond the tree leaves. “You like stars that much..?” Broken kissed the top of his head. “I like when you talk, and you like talking about stars.” He leaned his head back against his shoulder. “Nerd…” he hid his face in his hair for a moment, trying to spot stars to talk about.

Broken pointed out all the constellations he could see, talked about certain stars and planets that were visible, ones that weren’t, and random trivia about space stations and crafts sent out to other planets. Remus knocked out after an our or so. It wasn’t that he was bored, quite the opposite he loves hearing Broken talk about things, he’s just had a very long day with the kids.

”Alright, home time..” Broken unzipped his jacket and carefully set Remus in his chair. “So much for talkin’… got me goin’ on about stars..” he grumbled to himself. He stared at Remus for another second before sighing and putting his jacket over him like a blanket. Broken carefully took him home and got him upstairs. “Goodnight sweets..” he kissed his forehead and quietly went to check on Eve and the kids.

The three of them were playing with the kids toys in their bedroom, back at it with the super heroes. Broken leaned in the doorway and just watched. Eve was more invested than even she’d expected to be, waving the toys around and making up stories with Jax and Charlie. “Alright you brats, time to get settled down for bed…” he said after a good little while.

Jax got pyjamas from his drawer and scurried to leave. “Hey..” Broken stood in his way and flicked his tail towards the toys. “You played you clean..” he huffed tiredly but went back and helped get all the toys put away. “Goodnight lady!” Charlie hopped out of the room with his pyjamas. Jax picked a book off his nightstand and held it up as he walked out the door. “Can you read me to sleep? Pretty please?”

”I told you I can’t read..” he scooped Jax up in his arms. “I said pretty please!” He giggled and squirmed. “Shhh your dads sleepin’…” Broken flicked his tail in his face playfully. “We’re all in for it if he wakes up…” he tossed Jax onto the big bed and settled between the kids. “Now let me see this book..” they both snuggled up to his sides and listened to him read.
