When I was a child, we would always have final exams on December, which mostly ended before 20th. And on the 31st, our results would be announced so we'd go to school that day to collect our grade sheets . I going to my maternal grandma's during the 2 day Christmas Holiday. Since my parents' schedule was packed , we would hardly stay 2-3 days at that time. That visit was celebratory and fun for me. If you say preparation, I'd prepare for my next class like buying new textbooks & notebooks and covering them up lol cos classes started from 1st January.

I always go to my hometown (grandma-late grandpa's home) and meet my family and relatives, set up and decorate the Christmas tree together and basically just gather together for the holiday and new year and go to church together on Christmas ever since I was a kid

We used to put up a little village, but now we don't have the room for it but other than that me and my mom normally make a bunch of Christmas treat
Awe that sounds so cozy! I've never had a village, though I ki da have pieces for one now that I bought a couple years ago
I don’t do anything now, but when I was a kid I would put up the little Christmas village. You know the little houses and miniature people and all that
