titan relies upon the journey of eren

yeager, so it makes the most sense to

start with him first. from his humble

beginnings to the very complex and

conflicted   protagonist   he   becomes,

eren's evolution as a character is a big

part of what makes aot such a truly

remarkable series. in this analysis, i will

briefly cover some of the key traits and

experiences that shape him as one of the

most compelling characters in the story.

「 O N E 」

"determination and idealism"

eren's defining trait from the outset is

his unwavering determination. fueled

by a burning desire for freedom and a

longing to explore the world beyond

the walls, eren's idealism drives him to

enlist in the survey corps. his desire to

eradicate the titans and to uncover

the truth behind their very existence is

unwavering, inspiring those around him

to follow his lead. at least at the start...

"the complexity of change"

as the story unfolds, eren's character

undergoes significant transformations

(beyond the obvious physical one). his

initial idealism begins to clash with the

harsh realities of the world, and   the

weight of responsibility rests heavily on

his   shoulders.   the emotional toll of

witnessing great loss and experiencing

betrayal   leads   eren   to   question   his

beliefs and forces him to confront the

complexities of what is morality and the

consequences   of    his   own   actions.

"the dark descent"

eren's journey takes a darker turn as he

grapples further with personal conflicts

and inner turmoil. faced with the brutal

truth about his own origins and the titan

darkness showcases the depth of eren's

character, as he struggles to reconcile his

idealistic beginnings with the lengths he

must go to protect his home and friends.

eren   to   confront the consequences

of his choices and question what is the

real meaning of freedom and the cost.

his journey   illustrates   the   fine   line

exploration of human nature and the

where   the   lines   between right and

wrong are not as obvious as it seems.

i wouldn't say that eren is my favorite

character or maybe not even in my top

5 personally but that doesnt take away

from what an interesting protagonist/

antagonist he is. love him or hate him,

eren's   character is unquestionably the

very beating heart of attack on titan's

widespread   appeal. he represents a

profound exploration of human nature,

idealism, and the complexities of choice.

his journey challenges the notion of a

typical hero and leaves fans debating

the intricacies of human nature and the

price of true freedom. to me, that is what

makes him one of the most captivating

and unforgettable characters in the series.
