[EruMike] :rainbow: Pride :rainbow:

Happy Pride month, everyone! I pondered for a long time what I should draw to celebrate and finally settled on giving some love to an underappreciated ship: Erwin x Mike! So here they are looking chic and sporting some pride-themed accessories.

Eruri is still my #1, but I love these boys a lot too

If you are not familiar with the flags I have chosen to represent their respective orientations, please read on for a bit of education!

(Of course it should go without saying that this is only my opinion and you may view these boys differently :blush: )

Erwin: Demisexual

Demisexuality refers to those who experience attraction only after a strong emotional connection has already formed and is considered part of the asexual spectrum (also called gray asexuality or gray-Ace). Demisexuality varies greatly from person to person and can encom any romantic orientation as well (heteroromantic, homoromantic, biromantic, panromantic...etc).

I chose this orientation for Erwin because he is not the type of person who opens up easily to others and tends to be very emotionally isolated. In of forming a romantic bond with someone, I believe it would need to be someone he trusted deeply and whith whom he shared a long standing friendship.

Mike: Pansexual

Pansexuality refers to those who experience attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity (sometimes used interchangeably with 'bisexuality', though the prefix *pan* more explicitly rejects the traditional notion of the gender binary).

I chose this orientation for Mike because I see him as someone for whom gender is not a factor in who he feels romantic attraction towards. Obviously I do ship him with Erwin, but I am also a big fan of MikeNana. Often Nanaba is depicted as a genderqueer character (much like Hanji), so I think pansexual fits perfectly for Mike by taking into his attraction toward those who do not necessarily identify as "male" or "female."
