Welcome to another post! This time, I'm writing about Mikasa's journal after attacking Liberio and seeing Eren again. This is a collab with the amazing Dylan, who made the cover!

Dear Diary,

Every day I get further and further away. What used to be inches has grown into more and more miles, and gone unbearably out of sight.

I thought today would be different. I thought everything would be okay and I would understand when I finally saw him. Yet, somehow, he had grown even more distant. His eyes, unfeeling and glacial, seemed to be in another world – one I couldn’t even comprehend, let alone glimpse at in the horizon. The gunshots deafened my once-clear thoughts of him, and explosions blew me even further behind. For once, I found myself questioning whether the path he chose to walk was truly the right one.

Nevertheless, I continue to stumble behind him, throwing away every doubt, squinting into the distance and holding onto every last glimpse.  I follow him through the endless miles of unknown, through the mountains and deserts and through this eternal war. I follow him, never stopping to catch my breath and never knowing if he’ll perhaps stop to glance behind at me one day.

I’ll block out the screams and cries, and continue to stumble behind, as he pushes forward, in hope that he’ll guide me to the end of this war. I’ll follow, as my legs start to ache, in the hope that one day we’ll look at each other again, eye to eye, and I’ll finally see him smile and laugh again. I’ll follow, in hope that one day we’ll walk side by side, hand in hand.
