This might sound like a dumb question, but I saw a poll like this earlier, and Jaeger was surprisingly winning. Since then, I've been noticing that people probably use Jaeger more, but I just wanted to confirm it.

It's weird because Yeager is the actual official spelling in the English translation of the manga, so you'd expect it to be the most widely used. Jaeger came from the Funimation dub.

Also, if it was Jaeger, then it would also have to be Jaegerist, which just looks wrong...

I don't know how in the English version exactly, but I say Yeager.

I used to say Jaeger when I read the first 4 volumes but after watching the anime I say Yeager.

AOTs world is more germanish (Well, before stuff that happens in the manga anyways). So the dubs way of making the names sound more german honestly clicked with me more than the Yeager counterpart

Jaeger is the one I use simply because that is how I always imagined it being spelled upon hearing it since that is the more German way to spell it-

I think it just depends on if you have more exposure to the translated manga or the English dub. Either one is really ok, I'd say. There are a couple examples of these alternative spellings, like Christa vs Krista

Yea. I'm just a little surprised that the majority use the Jaeger spelling. The more you know, I guess
