🌙Moonlight Mermaid🌙

The story may be about Hanji but at least it's not LeviHan.

Hanji couldn't be happier right now. She was with her friends, they were on vacation, and they were at her favorite place on the world: The beach. She had always loved the beach, and always was drawn to the ocean. It was a magical place.

After lounging on the beach for a good part of the day, Petra suggested going to the boardwalk to shop. "After all," she said. "Sometimes boardwalk shops have some really cool stuff in them!" So off the girls went, browsing through shop after shop.

After an hour of visiting various stores, the stumbled upon one that was peculiar, to say the least. It was painted completely black, and the windows were covered with posters. The girls were hesitant to go in, but Hanji spoke up, saying "Come on girls, we might find something cool! You can't judge a book by its cover." Convinced that their friend was right, they strolled into the store.

When they got in, they were greeted by an assortment of strange items. Amulets, keychains with strange items attached, and more. "It looks like a witch's hut." Nanaba whispered. At the counter was an old lady. "Welcome to my little shop!" she said enthusiastically. "Have a look around, please." One thing that caught Hanji's eye was a necklace. It had a spire shell on it, and it looked simple, yet nice. "How much for this necklace?" she asked, setting it down on the counter. She paid for the necklace, and the girls decided to leave the store, and go home.

It was 11 PM, and Hanji decided to head to the beach for a swim. She knew swimming at night was dangerous, but she loved the ocean at night. There were no people, it was quiet, and it was just her and the sea. Securing her necklace around her neck, she stepped into the waves. She walked out until the water was at her waist, and started swimming.

About five minutes in, she noticed her necklace was dimly glowing. Thinking it was just reflecting the moonlight, she paid no mind. But the glow was getting brighter and brighter, until she shouldn't ignore it anymore. Then, she felt like she was stepping on shards of glass, despite not touching the ground. The pain traveled up her legs, until it felt like her legs were being stabbed with needles. Suddenly, her vision flashed white, and she fell unconscious for a couple of seconds.

When she woke up, she noticed she couldn't move her legs properly. 'Maybe there's some seaweed wrapped around them.' she thought, and she looked down.

There was an orange tail under her, instead of her legs.

Like any normal human, she started freaking out. She had a tail, not legs! How was she even supposed to move! She tried to swim around, and kinda flailed in the water. But after a minute, she managed to swim around. 'I could live with this.' She thought, and swam deeper into the ocean.

Swimming around the ocean was amazing. It almost felt like hang gliding, but there was no fear of falling. Hanji took out her hair tie, and watched as her hair fanned out behind her. She never saw any other mermaids, just the various marine wildlife around her. Fish surrounded her, and crabs scuttled about on the floor below.

After hours of swimming, Hanji saw an orange glow on the surface of the water. ‘It must be the sunrise.’ she thought, swimming up to the surface to watch. But when she got there, the feeling of needles stabbing into her lower half came back. A sharp pain shot though the center of her tail. Trying to figure out what was happening, the realization hit her like a ton of bricks.

She was going to be turned into a human again, and if she stayed put she'd drown.

Hanji raced though the water to the shore, gritting her teeth though the pain. Luckily, being a mermaid meant she could swim through the water very quickly. She saw the shore in the distance, and almost leapt out of the water in joy. 'Almost there, you're almost there.' her mind chanted. She got there just in time, and her vision went white again as she slipped into unconsciousness.

When she woke up, she was lying on the beach, and her legs were back once again. The sun was rising, the sky flashing brilliant shades of orange and yellow. The ocean reflected the colors, and a mirrored image of thr sky was painted onto it. The scene was truly beautiful.

Hanji was definitely going back to the ocean tonight.

Yea that was a rough one but I tried ok.

And here's the little edit I do for these:

I rushed on this one, and if it looks weird it's because Levi was also part of this pic, and mermaid Hanji was saving him. But I promised myself I wouldn't do another Levihan fic yet and tried to crop him out. That's why the tail and upper arm look weird. I tried my best tho ok

And yea, that's about it
