Poem starring Sasha Braus, plus a drawing of Shadis

‘Twas a night just like this one. The moon was quite full. Sasha Braus lay awake, and was starting to drool. For inside the pantry, from atop her bunk bed, Sasha's sensitive nose caught the scent of fresh bread.

She could stand them no longer, the pangs of starvation! The cries from her stomach, like from a whole nation! So she snuck up to Mina, who was out like a light, and shook her awake: “You're hungry too, right?”

“Now ,” Sasha said, her voice lowered while talking, “If he catches you, pretend to be sleepwalking.” “But that never works for you,” Mina said with a frown. “Yeah, well, he trusts you. Stop whining, calm down!”

“But he HATES me!” Mina said. “Never mind, I'm going to bed!” She stomped off, Sasha shrugged, “Who needs her? She's rude!” She went back to scavenging for food.

Soon Sadies caught her. “It was all Mina!” she blamed. Sadies’ eyes narrowed: “Mina's being framed! Last I checked, Carolina was in her bed, SLEEPING! Just like YOU should be, not out and about creeping!”

“Man, Mina! You're such a horrible friend! Uhhhhh… Oh! I'm sleepwalking, sir!” she tried to pretend. Sadies sent her off to bed with a warning, and the promise of extra laps in the morning.

“That darn Braus! Always looting the food. She always succeeds putting me in a bad

mood. I wish they'd give her carrion to eat, like the vulture she is. She doesn't appreciate the food that we gives!”
