A picnic date

Marlowe sliced through the last sandwich with a knife, forming two triangular pieces. The neatly-cut ham was layered with robust, red tomatoes and bright, green lettuce. Satisfied, Marlowe placed the last of the contents into a wooden basket before cleaning up.

"Alexa, play my music." Getting into a rythm, Marlowe bobbed his head as he washed his cutting board, the cool stream of water brushing against his skin. A buzz rang from the counter, a familiar name followed by a heart.

"Are we still on for tonight?" A feminine voice asked from the phone.

"Yeah, I'll pick you up in an hour." Marlowe answered with a smirk, anticipating his date. With the food set, all that was left for him was to freshen up.

Marlowe wore a jacket on top of a woolen sweater, matched with a pair of jeans and boots. Combing his black hair down, he placed the picnic basket in his car before driving away.

Marlowe pulled onto a hill, granting his date a perfect view of the stars above. To keep them warm, he put a blanket on the hood of the car before placing the basket between the two of them. They enjoyed a picnic of sandwiches, fruit, snacks, and cookies, washing the food down with a bitter wine.

"Thank you for taking the night off for me. I know how important your work is for you." Hitch smiled, green eyes shining brightly.

"Justice can wait," Marlowe sighed, "If it means I get to spend the night with you."

Holding hands, they embraced each other as they watched the night sky. Marlowe couldn't help but to reflect that, of all the stars illuminating the night, nothing compared to her beautiful green eyes.

At Marley, it was sunny, very sunny. As the sunny weather continues, Bertholdt and Reiner were talking outside, by a bench, about a certain activity for them and the Warriors could do.

“Hmm.. how about a movie?” Bertholdt suggested.

“That seems too basic, anything else?”

“Movie.. video games? Like, a battle we could in.. Just Dance.” He smiled.

“Could be fun, but the sun will go to waste. An outdoorsy activity could be better, honestly.”

“A beach? Some tag? A walk down the park? A picnic?-“ Bertholdt’s words were cut by Reiner.

“Aha! A picnic! That’s something we all enjoy right? Food.” He smiled happily, it looked like he just found out the secret to attracting women- anyway.

“Yes, yes! A picnic and food. We love food.”

“We should inform Chief about this.”

After that conversation, they went to look for Zeke, their Chief. The blonde man was outside, looking ag the ocean, sitting down on a chair with a cup of tea, black tea. When Reiner and Bertholdt found him, Reiner cleared his throat. “E - excuse me, Chief?” Zeke turned around and tilted his head. “Yes, Reiner?”

“Since the weather is very sunny these days, Bertholdt and I were thinking about maybe doing some bonding with the Warrior candidates?”

Zeke’s eyes squinted then relaxed, he walked closer to the both of them and stood there. “Ah, that would sound nice. I’m sure the kids would like that. Now, are we bringing the adults though? Pieck-chan, Porco-kun, Annie-chan?”

“Yes, we will bring them. All of us, including you, if you’re interested..”

“I’d like to , to look after all of you, of course. Let’s inform Pieck-chan and the others about this.”

Later that day, the three called on Pieck, Porco and Annie, along with the kids, Zofia, Udo, Falco and Gabi. They all sat down outside, in the grass, by a tree. “Alright everyone, you’re probably wondering why we called you and why we’re here outside. Well, we would like to host a picnic for us all, us Warriors, right here on Friday. Does that sound good?” Zeke said, smiling.

“Ooh, that sounds fun, Chief!” Zofia said.

“I agree, we could all bond together as Warriors.” Udo added.

Falco raised his hand. “Uhh, will we, um, bring anything?”

Zeke turned his head towards Falco and nodded. “Yes, each of us will bring a food item for the picnic and you get to choose. It could be strawberries, sandwiches, maybe some tea, anything.”

Everyone looked forward to the picnic, so they talked for a while about what they could bring, do and even talk about. Later on, Gabi and Falco were sitting together under a tree.

“G - Gabi, what will you bring for the picnic?”

“Hmm.. I’m still thinking, might do some fruit though. We have a lot of those at home, especially apples and grapes.”

“Cool, I love fruit.” He smiled.

“Yeah! Me too.”

Fast forward to the day of the picnic, everyone brought in food and some things that were assigned to them. For Zeke, he brought utensils, napkins and the blanket for them to sit on, Pieck brought some mashed potatoes, Reiner brought the plates and some water, Bertholdt brought activities like bubbles, a frisbee and others, Annie brought bread, Porco brought some carrots and hummus while the kids brought all sorts of things. Zofia brought some fruit tarts made by her mom, Udo brought tons of options of juice, Gabi brought a lot of fruit and Falco brought sandwiches. Everything was complete, they all had a great time.

Gabi and Falco spent most of the time talking and laughing, while Pieck and Porco.. flirted? Who knows what they were doing. Annie just chilled there with Bertholdt and Reiner while Zeke took care of the kids, Udo even accidentally tripped over and smashed his face on a plate of his food, everyone laughed even him and helped him to clean himself up. After a while, Pieck, Porco, Gabi and Falco went to play with bubbles. Pieck blew some of it and the kids tried to pop it, they jumped around and had fun.

It was now almost evening, everyone was tired but had fun. They were now all watching the sunset from afar, all iring the rays that were left. They will all this day.

‘”Miss Jaeger! Could Eren come out to play?”

The breeze of the valley blew wildly,

As the people picnicked and chatted kindly.

“Our family has a lovely picnic planned I dearsay..”

Sandwiches and fruit, scent being so arousing.

Everyone happy to associate and leave their housing.

“Of course, our entire family shall stay!”

Young children playing in the green grass,

Humoring themselves with tag and running fast.

“Let me grab the sunscreen to avoid those sunshine rays”

The blanket spread widely,

Patterns glittering in the sun oh so shiny.

“Oh ma’am I regret to say..”

Some hating the ground,

Settle for a picnic bench mounted to be found.

“The rain has caused the dirt to be sticky like clay”

Napkins flying far far away,

Though the mood was still bright and gay (in a happy way)

“Nevertheless, there are benches are there not?”

Little kids begging their parents to taste the red wine,

Many refused but a few reluctantly saying ‘fine’

“Ah yes.. pardon me as we forgot.”

With the season changing drastically,

The mothers wrapped their babies in bundles carefully.

“Missus Arlert? Could Armin possibly come out to play?”

Starting with a tiny drop,

The rain started coming down as if from a pot.

“I’m sorry my dear Eren, Armin is sick and feeling quite gray..”

And the innocent children giggled,

The golden sun illuminating them with no one singled.

“That is alright, there’s no problem with our next picnic having a little delay!”

Yet everyone came home with a cold,

Twas the consequence of being too bold.
