I would have robbed us of one of the best series endings of all time.

It would result in the fullbring arc never happening. Which would mean that Ichigo wouldn't have learned to utilize his hollow powers in the way that he did. And learning to further utilize his hollow powers in that arc ultimately made him grow stronger. So if Ichigo hadn't lost his powers, he would ultimately be weaker.
