Imagine, you spent a lot of time creating a content to share on HOB. One day, you found your post was disabled and a staff reminded you to give credit. What would you do?

A. Getting frustrated?

Do you know how much time and effort were put into creating a single piece of artwork? You may find it irritating, but giving attribution to the original artist isn't just an ethical way of recognizing all of the talent and creative labor that went into making your work, but it’s also a good way to keep yourself out of trouble. You can be fined if somebody found out you use a copyrighted artwork and report you to the law enforcement authorities. In addition, there are artists don't want their artwork to be published or replicated in someone else's work. In HOB, you only NEED to give credit to the arts and adoptable that are created by Amino s and those acquired from online social media art (such as Pixlr/Deviant Art). It's not hard to spend a few minutes on it.

Gathering Proof

Take a look at artwork you acquired from, let's say Google browser. Examining every part of the art. Search for the signature or initial and a date. If there's none, use saucenao.com to find the original artist/source. You can also find saucenao in the long horizontal menu at the top of your Amino. Click into the tab, click the three dots at the bottom right then click on "Open in external browser."

Let's say I have this artwork. As you can see there's no signature on it, so I'll use saucenao to find the original creator.

As you can see, there is only one source which I believe is the real creator. You should go ahead to click into pixiv.

And I found the original artist!

Crediting

You should mention the name of the original artist and say what online social media art this name belongs to.

Examples:

Basic Requirement: Art belongs to アスカ on Pixiv.

Good Attribution: Art belongs to アスカ on Pixiv. You can find them here: アスカ

What you shouldn't do?

♡ Repost art from online social media art or drawn by another Amino without crediting them.

♡ Only state out "credit goes to the original artist!"

♡ Claim artwork that is not yours even in the chatroom. You shouldn't do that ANYWHERE on this Amino.

You can use any images and artworks that you can find on Google and if they are not posted in online social media art websites and by other Amino s without the need to credit them. Just don't claim it.

Lastly, for editors, you can use any materials you want to create your edit without the need to give attribution. It's fine, because edit is edit. People know you don't actually draw it. What intriguing about it, is your skills in editing.
