Full Name

Lucia Arlene Calyse

Lucia comes from the Latin word Lux meaning 'light'. It is the feminine form of the Roman praenomen Lucius. It is used in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Romanian and Slovak languages. Arlene is an Irish feminine given name and variant of Carlene or Charlene and in the French derived from feminine diminutive of Charles meaning free man. Calyse is another form of Calise, and is Old Greek for “a gorgeous woman.”

Age/Gender/Sexuality

Lucia appears as if she is around her mid twenties, around 25, but actually is not that age. She really is only about 10 years older than that. Lucia was physically conceived and born as a female. She accepts her female self despite being what she is, and takes a small bit of pride in being a female. Despite this, Lucia is actually bisexual, but will lean more towards woman than men.

Race/Species

She honestly has no clue what she is, so Lucia merely tells everyone she is a Dark Knight. Her golden eyes clearly show that she is not a human, but something entirely different. Lucia used to be human, a British human in fact. She was the rightful heir to the throne of Britain, a princess.

Appearance

Lucia has blonde hair that she either keeps long or short, her eyes a vibrant, glowing golden color. She has a curvy figure, her chest a normal size. She stands at a height of 5’5”, her weight being something that she does not disclose.

As for Lucia’s attire, it all depends on the situation. She will wear either of her casual attire for when she is in public, her formal attire for anything requiring it, and her armor for combat or even certain formal events.

Personality

Lucia is cold, heartless, and blunt. She will not stand for anything nor anyone disrupting the peace of her Knights, nor will she tolerate any of her Knights disrupting the peace among themselves. She is not actually all that kind, but can show kindness when it is needed. Despite this, she still does have her own sweet, kind, and caring side to her. She shows comion towards those she can actually, truly trust with all of her very soul. When it comes to a lover, she believes herself to be too cold and heartless for such a concept, but deep down she just wishes for someone to walk into her life and actually understand her as they love her.

Powers/Abilities

Gladio

Lucia’s Gladio appears as a one-handed, dark longsword that possesses a few abilities. One of these abilities is to literally slice through anything and eat away at the reishi that makes it up. This counts for spirit energy and reiatsu, merely eating away the two if it is struck. The only thing her Gladio cannot slice through is a Zanpakto from a Soul Reaper or an Arrancar.

Another ability her Gladio has is to generate pure, raw spirit energy in order to use it in various offensive or defensive ways. It could be used to generate a shield that blocks almost any Kido and any physical attack, or it could be used to form blades of nothin but pure power that will strike a target on their own.

The third ability her Gladio can produce is decay. This means that anything her Gladio strikes will start to disintegrate, break down, and eventually completely be destroyed. The composition of the material that is struck is what starts to break down, on a molecular level. It starts to break everything apart from the inside out.

The last ability her Gladio retains is the ability to form, generate, manipulate, and control air. The blade can generate air to allow Lucia to move faster, have more fast and aggressive strikes, or even move the air around herself and her opponent(s) so fast that it may be used as a weapon. She may even use this ability to “fly” whenever and wherever she pleases.

Vocatio Gladio

Lucia’s Vocatio Gladio actually has seven (7) different forms, each one different in abilities and even fighting styles. If she so chose to, she may even dual wield two of the seven (7) blades, merely able to form another the same way the Knight forms their weapon.

1.) The Demon, “Breaker Sword”

The Demon has a special ability to cause massive amounts of destruction and basically shatter, break, or destroy anything it strikes. It is the most durable blade that Lucia wields in her Vocatio Gladio, so the weapon is not able to break so easily itself. It is what she likes to call a “Breaker Sword”.

2.) Dragonfire

Dragonfire is a blade that can generate, manipulate, and control flames. It also allows Lucia to do it of her own free will, as long as she wields the blade in one hand. This counts for even reishi consuming flames, be able to manipulate and control any type and/or form of flames of any magnitude/power.

3.) Woodland Bane

Woodland Bane has two separate abilities for different situations. One of these abilities is to take in any and all energy around it in order to heal Lucia if any and all wounds she has upon her body, if any at all. The other ability is to use the environment around it as a weapon, able to use the earth and any structures from the World of the Living or even the Seireitei as a weapon in themselves, while the sand of Hueco Mundo may be used as a weapon as well.

4.) Phoenix’s Embrace

Phoenix’s Embrace has the ability to use flames as a shield for Lucia, appearing solidified but not actually solid to the touch. If anything or anyone were to touch these flames, it would harm them with third degree burns or melt them completely almost instantaneously. Phoenix’s Embrace is also able to use solidified flames upon it’s own blade for more lethal strikes. This causes the blade to be able to slash through almost any material. The only materials it cannot slash through is a Zanpakto or sekiseki rock.

5.) Nightblade

Nightblade has the ability to take away any of the 5 senses at random in any amount whenever it strikes an opponent. Taste, touch, smell, hearing, and/or sight. It lasts for two posts. When it strikes the opponent’s weapon, armor, ability, or shield, it will merely make whatever it struck lose all power it holds for a total of 2 posts.

6.) Lightning’s Domain

Lightning’s Domain carries the ability to create, generate, manipulate, and control any type of lightning from any source. This also personally gives Lucia the ability to create, generate, manipulate, and control lightning at her own will. As long as she wields Lightning’s Domain, no lightning is able to harm her either. Any hostile lightning will merely be absorbed into the blade and launched back out at four times (4X) the strength.

7.) Raven’s Glare

Raven’s Glare has a simple yet deadly ability. If one even looks at Lucia while she wields this blade, then they will be cast into an illusion that is like a genjutsu from the Sharingan in Naruto. It could be painful physically, mentally, or even both. It all depends on what the worst fear of the opponent(s) is(are).

Ferrum

Lucia’s Ferrum is actually quite different from most Ferrum, given that hers actually has a name and was born from an actual artifact that Lucia had been holding at the time she attained her powers. Dark Excalibur. Dark Excalibur retains all of the abilities from her Gladio, and from all of weapons of her Vocatio Gladio, in a single sword. A single blade. Dark Excalibur also has a few abilities of it’s own.

One of these is the ability to create, generate, manipulate, and control darkness or shadows. This darkness can be used as a shield, or even as a shroud for concealment.

Another of these is the ability to absorb blood. Whenever blood is coated onto the blade, Dark Excalibur will absorb the blood in order for it to make it’s own abilities point five times (.5X) stronger with each absorption, this ability being able to stack.

The last of these abilities is basically an overwhelming strength. The durability of Dark Excalibur is way beyond the norm, and it is able to create a crater with a single strike of the blade. If Lucia wishes to, that is. The ability works almost like an on and off switch. The only fault to this is that she cannot activate it nor deactivate it mid-swing. It has to be done before and/or after.

Armis

Lucia’s Armis is actually very strong, but very lightweight as well. It allows her to move more freely than it seems to actually allow her to, and seems to have more durability and weight than anything else. Despite this, Lucia is actually able to move pretty freely, and is able to use Quicksilver at it’s base level.

Her Armis is also able to stop any strike from any sealed Zanpakto, or anything equal to that mind of power, with absolute ease. It can stop a Shikai attack, or any attack equal to that kind of power, but may make Lucia stagger or struggle slightly.

In her Vocatio Gladio, her Armis becomes stronger, being able to easily stop Shikai attacks and struggle with Bankai attacks. In her Ferrum, her Armis can stop Bankai level attacks with relative ease. Despite all this, she may even “discard” any pieces of her Armis at any given moment to increase her own speed. The downside to this is how exposed she would be.

All Other Knight Abilities

Lucia has mastered and perfected all the other Knight abilities, including Quicksilver. However, she has her own movement technique that she likes to call Quick Flash. This movement technique is actually much faster than any Flashstep, Sonído, or Quicksilver. She may only perform this movement technique when ninety percent (90%) of her Armis is “discarded”.

Backstory

Lucia was born as a princess to the throne of Britain, her parents giving her the name of Lucia Arlene Calyse. Growing up, Lucia was a bit of a troublemaker, which earned her beatings from her teacher. These beatings were especially bad when he would be drunk, for her teacher was secretly an alcoholic. Once her parents finally found out, they ordered his execution. His head was chopped off in the old style by an executioner with a headsman’s axe. Lucia was there to witness it, and watched on with pleasure and glee. This is the day that started the personality she now holds to this day.

As Lucia grew more after that day, she became a very smart young girl. She even learned how to fight with a sword around the age of merely ten (10) years old. When she was only twelve (12), Lucia even managed to help a poor family find a long lost heirloom using only a map and several areas where the heirloom was thought to be. Once Lucia was around the age of seventeen (17) years old, she was taught about the legendary sword of Britain, Excalibur. She took an interest in the fabled sword in the stone, and started to do her own research upon the legendary blade. She found out that Excalibur was thought to be in several different places around Britain, and started mapping out everything she learned. When she started mapping the locations, she started huge by placing a huge, long sheet of paper along the wall and taping it in place. Mapping this took her about five (5) days to complete, and she had drawn out a perfect map of the entirety of Britain along with the twenty (20) or so fabled locations of Excalibur. After doing this, she then started to triangulate the real location of Excalibur. This took her about only three (3) hours to do, and she had the location of the real Excalibur the same day as she had finished the map. Maybe. When she turned the age of eighteen (18), she would set out on a trip to find out. She would set out on a trip to the Forest of Darkness.

A year later, she does exactly that. Lucia sets out for the Forest of Darkness. Her parents had protested against it, even begged and pleaded her not to go. She had not given up, though, and left despite her parents’ pleas. She had taken a plane, flying over the Forest of Darkness and looking down below. However, about one (1) mile away from her destination, the plane is suddenly racked with a random electrical virus. It shuts all the systems down, and the plane quite literally nose dives into the Forest below. The impact had knocked Lucia out, and she lost consciousness.

When she had come to an hour later, she shook her head slowly and slightly to clear it a bit. She had then went to check on the pilot, only to find out that he was dead. Killed on impact, most likely, since he had a metal spike through his throat and another through his heart. She merely shrugged it off, not ever having known the man enough to care about his death. So she searched the plane for the correct survival gear, took the pilot’s personal survival knife and machete, and soon set out for the middle of the Forest of Darkness. As she traversed the Forest, she did notice how literally dark and gloomy the place really was. The name actually fit, but not just because of the look. . .

When she had almost fell, something had caught her. She had no idea what it was, but it was just something. It had disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared. How strange. As she continued on, she decided to test it out and see if this “something” would catch her or save her again. So, she decided to climb a tree, and very high up into it, then jump off. The fall would have killed her, but it did not. Because she had been caught again. When she was caught, she gasped at the sight of what it was that caught her. It literally was just something, nothing but darkness that looked like a transparent yet black, cloudy smoke. It had set her down and just dispersed. It was the Forest of Darkness itself, literally watching out for Lucia, for some odd reason. This only led her to believe that she was definitely on the right track, so she continued on. As she continued, the darkness would literally move branches aside for her, or even take her across small chasms or cliffs. Before she knew it, she was in a clearing in the middle of the Forest. In the center of this clearing sat a huge stone slab, a sword protruding from it. The sword in the stone, the legendary Excalibur. Lucia had finally found it.

The darkness that had been helping her along the way seemed to stay away from the clearing entirely, hanging back inside the tree line as Lucia approached the stone slab. Before she even tried to pull the sword, she sat down in front of the stone slab and pulled out some ancient text and old scrolls from her survival bag. She lays it all out upon the ground in front of her, starting to study something. She was reading on the darkness that inhabits the Forest, and how there is actually a connection to it and the sword, Excalibur. In fact, she read up on a way to entice Excalibur to become dark, to accept the darkness and grow in power. Once she believed she had studied enough and understood how to entice and change Excalibur, she stood up and faced the stone slab. She closed her eyes as she placed her hands on the warm hilt of the sword. Strange, the hilt was comfortably warm. Must have had something to do with it’s holy power. She then allowed her mind to go blank at first, and soon released all the negative memories and experiences she held inside herself. This opened a “gateway” for the darkness inside the Forest that surrounded the clearing. It allowed the darkness to travel into the clearing, and the air had started to become a bit cold. As this happened, Lucia opened her eyes and started to pull the sword while yelling out those fateful words that would change her life forever.

”Now awaken, Dark Excalibur!”

What happened next was actually something that Lucia never expected. She pulled the sword from the stone with relative ease, and a massive explosion of dark power and dark energy bursts from the stone slab and Excalibur itself. This much she expected, even as the sword changed in appearance and demeanor, which she also expected. What she did not expect was to be knocked unconscious by another power that had randomly seeped inside the clearing and mixed with the darkness, and with Dark Excalibur itself. When she had awoken, she found herself clad in midnight black armor lined with intricate, red lines that seemed to be glowing. As she looked around, she started to see ghostly apparitions, or spirits as they are called. At first, she started to freak out, but that freak out turned into laughter. She had just gained power that people would only dream of having.

After she had finally calmed down, she decided to learn about these powers. She trained herself for days, maybe even weeks, eating off the rations she had taken with her. As she learned, her power grew. She started to become powerful, soon unlocking her Vocatio Gladio after a week, and her Ferrum after a single month. When she started to run out of rations, she decided to head back to the plane and use distress signals. At this point, she had learned about her change in appearance and even learned how to disperse the armor for normal clothing. About another month went by before she was found, having to feed off the animals and berries in the Forest. She had survived on her own for so long, and had fed off of dark creatures that were influenced by the Forest. This made her own power grow even more, but also changed her personality.

When she returned home, her parents were overjoyed at first. However, as they started to learn of her change in personality, they became weary of her. Eventually, they became paranoid, and by the time she was twenty five (25) years old, they tried to have her assassinated. It failed miserably, and her parents never could figure out how. For about another five (5) years, they tried everything they could to kill her, but Lucia never once died. Eventually, Lucia got sick of it. She already knew her parents were trying to kill her, so she slipped poison into their own food during dinner one night, and ran away at midnight. Her parents had slowly died as she escaped, and Lucia had gone to the royal library at first. She researched of any places she could go to, eventually finding out about the massive family castle that had been handed down through the generations. Zamek Rycerski, built by a late British-Polish nobleman thousands of years ago and located in Japan. It was said to be gone, but she knew better with the powers she attained and the fact that she had actually found Excalibur and even changed it into Dark Excalibur.

So, she set out to where it was once located. She dodged all security within Britain, reading on the news of her parents death and her own disappearance. They were literally offering a reward for her return, but no one knew who she was anymore. Her appearance had changed drastically.

Once she arrived in Japan, she learned of the Soul Reapers, the Vizards, the Quincy, and even the Arrancar. Soon after that, she set out for Zamek Rycerski. When she had arrived at the location, it definitely was not there. Not at first anyway. After she had concentrated her own power and dispersed it in a constant wave, the Kido that had been hiding Zamek Rycerski dispersed and revealed the massive castle.

As she did this, Lucia had noticed a woman approaching her. She could sense the fact that the woman was a Knight, and so she relaxed a little. Lucia still kept her guard up, though, since she had no idea who the woman was. When the woman had approached, she explained who she was. Astrid Pendragon. Once Lucia heard this, and after Astrid had questioned her on what happened, she merely tells the Pendragon the truth. Astrid had laughed a bit as she listened to the story, soon asking to Lucia in this castle. Lucia had agreed, and they walked into Zamek Rycerski together.

As if it could even be called a castle, it was more like an actual kingdom. So this is where Lucia had decided to start living. With her own powers, she made sure the massive buildings were fixed up properly and that everything was clean and tidy. During this, however, is when she learned of the spirit butlers. They had kept the massive “kingdom” cleaned for thousands of years, having no master nor ruler to really answer to. Until now, that is. They started referring to Lucia as their Queen, and she eventually grew used to the concept. Before she knew it, she started to learn of others with similar abilities and powers to her own, all through the mental link they share with one another. So, she sent them all mental messages, telling them all to come to Zamek Rycerski. This is where the story of Lucia Arlene Calyse, the British Princess, ends; and where the story of Lucia Arlene Calyse, the Queen of Knights, begins. . .
