Grow Your Tree Event Reading Log- Week Three and Final Week

Late post I know meant to post it yesterday but I had a bad headache (5/1/23)

Hi, hello, this is my last reading log post for Aprils event. I plan on doing this same thing for Mays event since I really liked doing this and I wanna get into Book Journalling/Reading journals so these reading logs are like a mini one.

April 21st

Gonna try to finish Sadie tonight I didn’t read that much at all this week which is fine I was mainly doing school stuff

I’m very close to finishing this audiobook. I now have 40 minutes left and I’m 7hours and 17minutes in. When I read this the first time in 2020 I was just focusing on one thing I guess and entirely forgot about the rest of it now I’m seeing how really good this is with things I’ve missed

I just finished Sadie and I loved it more than I did the first time. It does talk on serious topics and has trigger warnings though, if you’re planning on reading it please look them up before

Probably gonna start Heartstopper and then afterwards continue House of Hollow

I now just started Heartstopper I’m on page 24, outside with that some coffee and it raining

I’m now on page 200, I love Heartstopper it’s such a cute book I still got to read the fourth one. I’ve read up to third one

Just got done with Heartstopper, that was my 6th book read this event and the reading prompts for it were Book with a green cover (2) A comic or graphic novel (18)

I know I said I was gonna pick House of Hollow back up again but now I’m listening to the audiobook of Dandelion Wine, which I just realized it’s not on my tbr and that it fits prompt 27 because of ‘Dandelion’ so if it’s fine ima edit it into being prompt 27

Can’t believe April is ending in three days that’s crazy to me, I’m gonna play Dandelion Wine while I’m typing this paper. It has to be 2,500 words and single spaced, I’m at 1,505 words 🫠

With breaks taken I’m now 2 hours into Dandelion Wine and I have 6hours and 53 minutes left. I’ve been listening to it while typing my paper, and I’m now 2,003/2,500 words

April 29th

I’m now continuing the audiobook and doing drawing homework, this is my last college homework of the semester

Ok I know this book has gotten multiple 4-5 stars and everyone saying it’s really good yeah I’m very lost rn I have no clue what’s going on

what is going on

My main question is how is a 200 something paged book a 9 hour audiobook

This is what happened: it went from a boy and a grandpa talking, then to random machines like the green machine, to going to an old person and using them as like a Time Machine, then went to claiming someone as a witch, now it talking about people running for election. Tell me it’s a classic book without telling me it’s a classic

I’m taking a break from the audiobook bc I can not wrap my head around it, and from the homework. Now I’m outside with house of hollow because it’s nice again out

I’m now on page 80 and oh my gosh this book just made a game of thrones reference

Someone aka me had the brilliant idea of picking up a thriller horror book that is House of Hollow and it is YA, is on page 85 and a bit like why at the moment. I’m stuck on this line deciding if I wanna go further because I feel like there’s tensions rising now- the darkness of the book is unfolding

Why am I a bit holding back is bc the author said I apologize in advance for any strong feelings/nightmares you may get of this book

I read adult horror books- one actually creeped me out. But like there’s this part in this book that genuinely creeps me out and I feel like something is gonna happen

Ok I’m reading more of it on page 87, and the character who somewhat creeped me out in this book before is back

I’m now on page 106/292 I’m gonna stop reading for the night/early morning

Today is the last day of this event 🥲. Rn I’m studying for my art history final tomorrow I meant to do it earlier but I got bombarded by homework with these reading logs I’ve been updating when I read and when I stop reading

So while I’m studying I’m listening to this audiobook

I’m now 6 hours in I have 2 hours and 46 minutes left and confusion mode activated again I swear, I now bumped it up to 1:50X speed I’m ready for this to be done

I’m now 7hours and 13 minutes in and have an hour 42 minutes left of this audiobook

Forgot to say I finished the audiobook, and I think I won’t be able to read more for today I still have a study guide that isn’t complete. So I’m gonna go ahead and say this reading is now done :). I’m still gonna read House of Hollow and I’m not sad that I didn’t read as much as I wanted to, this has actually given me reading motivation again
