Hi guys!

Finally September is over and the spooky month is here. Yay!

I didn't manage to read all the books I wanted to because school is making me a little dead, but I hope I can read more books in October.

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

September Wrap-Up-[IMG=MGH]

[C]Hi guys!

[C]Finally September is over and the spooky month is here. Yay!

[C]I didn't mana

Synopsis:

Camellia Beauregard is a Belle. In the opulent world of Orléans, Belles are revered, for they control Beauty, and Beauty is a commodity coveted above all else. In Orléans, the people are born gray, they are born damned, and only with the help of a Belle and her talents can they transform and be made beautiful.

But it’s not enough for Camellia to be just a Belle. She wants to be the favorite—the Belle chosen by the Queen of Orléans to live in the royal palace, to tend to the royal family and their court, to be recognized as the most talented Belle in the land. But once Camellia and her Belle sisters arrive at court, it becomes clear that being the favorite is not everything she always dreamed it would be. Behind the gilded palace walls live dark secrets, and Camellia soon learns that the very essence of her existence is a lie—that her powers are far greater, and could be more dangerous, than she ever imagined. And when the queen asks Camellia to risk her own life and help the ailing princess by using Belle powers in unintended ways, Camellia now faces an impossible decision.

With the future of Orléans and its people at stake, Camellia must decide—save herself and her sisters and the way of the Belles—or resuscitate the princess, risk her own life, and change the ways of her world forever.

I have a review of this book in my drafts, but I didn't have time to edit it yet, but hopefully I'll post it soon.

I really liked this book. The whole thing felt like a pastel tea party, but deep down it had dark secrets and parts. My favourite character was probably the main villain, she was a true psycho.

John the Valiant by Sándor Petőfi

September Wrap-Up-[IMG=MGH]

[C]Hi guys!

[C]Finally September is over and the spooky month is here. Yay!

[C]I didn't mana

Synopsis:

Arguably the greatest and most popular poem in the Hungarian language, this first unabridged translation of Petöfi’s spirited folk epic, which recounts the adventures of a young and valiant shepherd boy, has all the charm and romance of a classic fairy tale. After a reluctant farewell to the beautiful Nelly, Johnny Grain o’ Corn embarks on a series of incredible adventures that take him across land and sea, in the company of bandits, giants, and wicked witches. After he reunites a French princess with her father, the young shepherd must decide whether to accept the king’s gracious offer to ascend to the throne of or to return to his beloved Nelly. Hungarian poet and patriot Sándor Petöfi extended the range of his nation’s poetry beyond any predecessor, creating an important new synthesis of poetic technique and realistic subject matter.

This is a childhood favourite for me, so when I was making my TBR for the GoT event I knew I wanted to read this for the "book with a loyal hero/heroine" prompt.

It has an english translation, so if you can find it, read it!

Demény: Kóbor Kalandjaim by Judit Magos

[C]Hi guys!

I wanted to read this book for a while now, but I never bought it because it's a short book but expensive, so when I found it at a local store with a 70% sale I had to buy it. I read it the same day.

It is about this dog called Demény who runs away from home because his owners are treating him bad. It's about his journey as a stray dog and his love for pork greaves.

It's sometimes a sad but sweet and funny story and I absolutely loved it.

Even tho this book is not translated to english I still wrote a review about it because I hated it and wanted to rant about it. I didn't have time to edit it either, so it's in my drafts, but I'll post it soon.

It was marketed as a thriller, but lacked almost everything that is needed for a thriller. It was boring and bad.

A Crown for Christmas by Rachel Van Dyken

September Wrap-Up-[IMG=MGH]

[C]Hi guys!

[C]Finally September is over and the spooky month is here. Yay!

[C]I didn't mana

Synopsis:

The first time I met Fitz or to most of the world Duke Fitzegerald Heraldo Belleville, I punched him in the throat.

I was actually aiming for his chin, but he was a few years older, clearly not wiser, but at least taller.

He started wheezing on his candy cane.

And well, the rest is history.

Hate replaced what could have been friendship, and for the rest of my teen years, I watched him flirt with every single breathing female.

I hated him.

Plotted his death with a smile on my face.

And knew that my first decree as Queen would be to chop off his head.

Except now that I'm finally old enough to inherit the title, there's one tiny little slip-up.

I need a man by my side.

The problem?

I may have accidentally scared them all away.

I have no options.

Until the devil rings my doorbell with a wicked grin on his face and revenge dancing like sugarplums in his gaze.

I hate that I need him.

It's a serious problem.

We have twelve days before we say I do.

I just pray we survive without killing each other first.

The Mermaid's Voice Returns In This One by Amanda Lovelace

Synopsis:

Goodreads Choice Award-winning poet and USA TODAY bestselling author Amanda Lovelace presents the mermaid’s voice returns in this one — the third and final installment in her “women are some kind of magic” series, featuring a foreword from Lang Leav and 13 guest poems from leading voices in poetry such as Nikita Gill, KY Robinson, and Orion Carloto.

The mermaid is known for her siren song, luring bedroom-eyed sailors to their demise. However, beneath these misguided myths are tales of escapism and healing, which Lovelace weaves throughout this empowering collection of poetry, taking you on a journey from the sea to the stars. They tried to silence her once and for all, but the mermaid’s voice returns in this one.

If you are a regular on this amino you might know that Andi and I have a special connection with Amanda Lovelace's poetry, so I wanted to read the last book of the "Women Are Some Kind of Magic" series. I loved it just like the previous books, so you should definitely give it a go!

Well... that was all. I didn't read that much, but I still read more than last month. In the end, I'm still two books ahead of my Goodreads challenge, so I'm fine with it, but I'll try to read more in October. :jack_o_lantern:
