Jimin paused when he took notice of the increase in heart rate after a second or two of listening. As a doctor who practiced frequently, he was used to being in close proximity with patients like this and receiving similar reactions. But everything sounded all clear to him. But the difference this time was that he, too, had an attraction towards Jungkook. He was just better at hiding things behind a façad of professionalism. But... Jimin was right there, above the man’s well sculpted, shirtless body. And their faces... So close.

But the one thing he shouldn’t have done—and he realized too late— was briefly glance up and meet Jungkook’s breathtaking round eyes for a moment. His heart fluttered unexpectedly and he felt warmth beginning to crawl up towards his cheeks. He tried to will it away before pulling himself away and pulling the earpieces out. He wrapped the stethoscope around his neck again and grabbed the clipboard to record that Jungkook’s heart sounded fine. It was a brief distraction from the brief flusterment.

He cleared his throat softly and reorganized his thoughts before listening to yet another question. It created pause for a few seconds as he stared straight down at the clipboard while thinking very carefully about his answer. What he did, save Jungkook’s life, was going to cause a fuck-ton of trouble down the line, especially if both sides found out about it.

The doctor closed his eyes and inhaled slowly, before exhaling softly. It was a small exercise he did to keep himself calm and professional at the same time. They were touching on a topic that bordered outside of his professional work. “Are you really sure that you want to know? I don’t think you’ll be too happy with my answer.”

Certainly, this man was very different when he was out on the streets and doing his non-medical related job, as opposed to now, when he was in a purely professional setting. Hell, he threatened Jungkook with a gun just a couple of nights ago. And now? He was Doctor Park who meant business.

“And you’re probably not going to be too happy with what you said that night just before you ed out.”
