“Neuron” is a part of Jhope's Hope on the street vol.1 songs. The title has a dual meaning; it reference Jhope's very first underground dance crew from middle school and the scientific definition of a neuron – transmitting information and sparking energy when stimulated.

“Neuron” embodies the album's theme: a journey back to Jhope's artistic foundation , street dance , and a source of motivation for a fresh start. Jhope shares the mic with two respected Korean rappers, Gaeko and Yoonmirae. Together they trade verses about the importance of staying true to their creative origins and the simple ions that fuel them.

“Neuron” sounds as if it could have been released at almost any time during the past thirty years, Drawing and old-school hip-hop and funk, the song lays down a satisfying groove and vibes over it for four and a half minutes. It's refreshing , trendless and suits all three artists equally.

I like the soulful heft of the chorus, which is warm gospel undertones. This expressive drama could have been teased out even further, as Neuron plays more like a straight line than a series of emotional peaks. Still there's a confidence in simplicity. Neuron knows it has a good thing going and luxuriates in that space. His verse is so so him, the way he plays with words and sounds, his ion in every syllabus. The message is so good and how anthemic it sounds.

“Neuron” is a song that talks about Jhope's musical roots , motivation in life , and expectations for a new start.

In the official music video, describes the relationship between cities, streets, and people with the title of the song, “New Run”. The video reflects the lives of various people that a boy with camera encounters on the street at a high speed. The video, which begins in black and white, wears colour over time, revealing that everyone has their own colour.

Several military figures, including police officers, taxi drivers, parking enforcement agents, runners, and musicians, that the boy encountered on the street, are connected with a single line and a photo. This means that many experiences have been completed as 'neurons'. The video ends with the message "Even without knowing each other's stories, we create moments of love that bridge the gap" and "We create a moment of love that fills the gap, even if we don't know each other's stories."

On this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart, J-Hope snags another No. 1 hit. The singer’s new track “Neuron” opens in first place on the ranking of the bestselling “world” cuts in the U.S.

“Neuron” arrives at No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart thanks to 7,777 copies sold. That figure is according to Luminate, which collects all consumption data in the U.S. each week and feeds it to Billboard, which then uses that info to compile the charts.

J-Hope collects his sixth career No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart with “Neuron,” which also brings fellow South Korean musicians Yoon Mirae and Gaeko to the summit as well, as they’re credited as featured acts. That sum includes only his solo material, as he’s also topped the tally many, many times as one of seven of BTS.

“Neuron” is one of five new hits from J-Hope on the World Digital Song Sales chart this week. He owns the entire top five with tunes from Hope on the Street Vol. 1, upping his career total to 20 appearances between Nos. 1 and 10.

In addition to his six No. 1s, J-Hope has also reached the top spot on the World Digital Song Sales chart dozens of times with BTS. The boy band has thus far accrued 37 rulers, and that sum is sure to climb again when they reunite and release new music.
