PSA: Bans & Permanent Bans.

ㅤㅤㅤI'm here discuss the difference between a ban and being permanently banned, since some s don't seem to understand the difference. I shall also briefly discuss what happens when Team Amino are the ones who ban. Hopefully this blog will help clarify the differences and prevent any future confusion.

Ban:

ㅤㅤㅤA regular ban only applies to the one that received it. A is free to make a second and start over again, however the banned will remain banned indefinitely. This is non-negotiable.

Permanent Ban:

ㅤㅤㅤA permanent ban refers to a who has had 3+ s all be banned. At this point, any they then make will be automatically banned from that point onwards. They already had and failed their 3 chances.

Team Amino Ban:

ㅤㅤㅤIf Team Amino are the ones who ban an , we staff cannot be of any help. We do not see their reasons for banning and therefore you will need to them directly through their centre for more information. Team Amino are capable of IP banning, which would automatically act as a permanent ban.

Why bans occur:

ㅤㅤㅤs should have read our community guidelines by now, so there is no excuse that anyone can try to come up with that justifies breaking the rules. This platform needs to remain a safe space for all s, most of whom are minors and therefore all content needs to reflect as such and conform to the guidelines.

ㅤㅤㅤOur rules are not too dissimilar to any other online platform you have access to. Bans can happen for a multitude of reasons, varying from severe breaks of the community guidelines or receiving 3 strikes for content or behaviour. (The 3rd strike becomes the ban).

ㅤㅤㅤDisclaimer: An automatic ban can happen without a ever receiving a warning prior. That is the definition of an automatic ban.

ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤㅤIt is worth ing that a vast proportion of our rules are in fact Team Amino's rules and were not made up by us staff.

Messages we often receive:

ㅤㅤㅤBelow are examples of messages we continuously receive when someone experiences having their banned and what our responses to such messages are.

ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤㅤAt this point, we would ask the to provide us proof of ownership of the banned , as well as a link to the profile. Only upon seeing proof of ownership would we then discuss the reason for the ban.

ㅤㅤㅤMuch like the previous example, we would ask for proof of ownership before discussing the ban. Automatic bans do not require a to have a warning or strike first; that is why they're known as "automatic". The rules are available for everyone to see, so it is down to your own common sense to make sure you don't do something that requires an immediate ban.

ㅤㅤㅤAfter acquiring proof of ownership and discussing the ban, we will then explain that the will remain banned. It's not our fault when s don't think to check the rules - that's your own doing and you need to learn to take responsibility for your actions and accept the consequences.

ㅤㅤㅤCongratulations, you've just earned yourself another ban. If you choose to message us with an aggressive attitude, it's within our right not to reply to you. If you choose to throw slander and/or harassment towards us, or send death threats - will we handle it accordingly, either with a ban or strike depending on severity.

Our stance on bans:

ㅤㅤㅤIf your is banned, it is never for "no reason". We always have proof before we take action - proof which we keep stored elsewhere and therefore us Leaders have constant access to that information in order to discuss a ban with the in question, or to inform Team Amino of our concerns if required.

ㅤㅤㅤOnce an is banned, we will not unban it. Do not waste our time begging in our DMs to have your unbanned, when you were the one who actively made the decision to break the guidelines in the first place. We will not bend the rules to suit you.

ㅤㅤㅤIt is down to you as individuals to make sure you follow the rules and if you feel that you can't do that, or you do not agree with the guidelines, then perhaps it is time that you reconsider your reasons for being in this community in the first place.

Your rights:

ㅤㅤㅤWhen you create an in this community or on Amino in general, you are automatically agreeing to follow the community guidelines set in place. It is not your right to then do as you please and break this agreement.

ㅤㅤㅤHowever, it is your right to be able to Team Amino's centre if you believe it necessary and have a complaint to make. No matter what action we may have to take against your - your right to TA won't change.

ㅤㅤㅤ confidentiality is something we staff take seriously, so regardless of the actions we may need to take against you and your - that information will stay private within the team to protect your confidentiality, as is your right. Exposing such information will be handled seriously.
