Kim Taehyungiiee is back with a new blog again

I'm back with another theory blog. And this time it's about the song "I'm Fine". This whole theory is my perception. I, by no means meant that any of the following theory is 100% accurate. It's just the things I noticed which I wanted to share here.

Warning: mention of suicide and blood. As it's in the previous MVs and in webtoon.

So without further ado, Let's get this Bread :fist:

⋅◦༻ INTRO ༺◦⋅

The song "I'm Fine" samples the theme of "Save Me" in reverse. Just like an answer to their questions. I will start my theory with the choreography and pause it from time to time to explain the details behind it. I will explain my theory with the help of MVs, Notes and Webtoon.

The choreography starts with Taehyung being in center and being raised by Hoseok and Yoongi. If you the behind the scenes of the choreography then you will that it was supposed to be Jin who should Taehyung along with Hoseok instead of Yoongi and if I connect this part with webtoon and the BU line then you will understand why it was Jin who was chosen.

Reasons:

Jin was the one who was given the chance to go back into the past and make everything right. (Both in webtoon and BU).

In webtoon the first person that fell for darkness was none other than Taehyung and him being raised by Hoseok and Jin in the choreography was because Jin foresee the future that Taehyung will kill his father. So Hoseok went to Taehyung to stop him. In other words save him from his miserable fate.

But if we see it from this choreography then it also has a meaning because the five (Taehyung, Hoseok, Yoongi, Jimin and Jungkook) who were on ground all have a past that they wanted to change. They all got scattered while Namjoon and Jin turned their back on them. They are facing their back on them because they ran away from the situation without even a proper farewell (Notes reference). Both had a guilt about it because Jin was the reason Yoongi got caught and expelled and Namjoon was the reason Taehyung lost his fate. Even in HYYH prologue, the five were on the truck while Jin and Namjoon were standing on either side.

Then in next part when Jimin stood up, Hoseok and Taehyung was grabbing his foot because Hoseok saved Jimin. There was no one grabbing Hoseok’s foot neither Namjoon nor Jin. Again only these five are connected together. Meanwhile both Jungkook and Yoongi held Taehyung’s foot because they too fell for darkness and Jimin was also falling for it. That’s why Hoseok came to rescue him from his fear.

Then when Hoseok versed start, all the boys gathered in circle around him with head’s down. The order is:

Namjoon > Yoongi > Jimin > Taehyung > Jungkook > Jin

This order is related to the “Notes” and a bit from webtoon because Namjoon gave the news of Yoongi’s death. Yoongi is supposed to be the helping anchor for Jimin because Jimin asked Yoongi to come with him to the place that started his fear. Jimin to Taehyung because Taehyung too asked him to entered inside the building but he denied. Taehyung to Jungkook because they both saw the future glimpse and also represents alternative world. Jungkook to Jin because he too found out that something was wrong. And lastly it was Jin to Namjoon because Jin visited Namjoon himself to save him. But Jin held Hoseok’s hand in this formation because he was afraid that Hoseok might go into an accident. And before parting ways, he showed Hoseok the Polaroid and asked him whether they should go there and then all agreed.

Then just like a puppet is attached with string, the first person Hoseok pulled up is Jungkook and the second one is Yoongi because if you the story line then you will that they both were dead. And he pulled Jin together because in webtoon he found out that Jin is hiding something and somehow he knows about what is going to happen with all of them. So he wanted him to pull himself together so that they could save them all. Then when he stomped his foot, Jimin stood up because he rescue Jimin from the hospital. And wanted him to fight back. Then Namjoon straighten up and so is Taehyung as these two are connected with each other because Taehyung lost his fate in Namjoon and he had the guilt that he didn’t saved Taehyung instead Hoseok saved him.

Then when Jimin waved his hand other way and Yoongi grabbed his hand it was because in “Notes” Jimin requested Yoongi that he wanted to go with him alone to the place called “Glass Flower Arboretum” even though they visited that place many times with friends but Jimin never entered inside the building. Even when Taehyung insisted go inside, Jimin froze, stunned. Seeing that Yoongi suggested to go sea instead. Behind him Namjoon and Jin because they share the same feeling of guilt. Then Jungkook and Taehyung because they both have abusive family and they both relate to each other. And lastly Hoseok because in this whole commotion, Hoseok is like gravity, holding them all together so they don’t fall apart.

In next part Jungkook fell on his knees and the people holding him is Hoseok and Yoongi. Because in “Notes” when Yoongi got expelled because of him, after that Hoseok was in the piano room with him and Hoseok informed Jungkook that he isn’t coming back anymore and he closed the door indicating that they won't gathered around anymore. And in the Euphoria MV, when he was walking on the edge thinking about taking his life, he called Yoongi(Notes) to see whether he should end his life or retreat his foot. Then Jimin and Jin approach him just like in Run MV when he was alone staring, Yoongi came with Jimin and Jin because they were like his elder brothers who gave him the love and attention he craved for (mentioned in Notes). Then Namjoon and Taehyung came behind because Jungkook used to follow Taehyung around because he relates himself to him. And Namjoon was the Hyung who he looked up to. He always ask him when he gets older, will he become like Namjoon?

In next transition, when Jungkook sat down(after retreating his foot I assume), Taehyung raised up by Hoseok and Namjoon who saved him. Jin is in center as he was the only one who knew the situation of each member. And Yoongi(fire) and Jimin(water) stood on either side who are each other’s coping mechanism.

Then when Jimin fell, it was Yoongi who gave him his shoulder to stand again (because he went with him to the place that started his trauma and fear). Lastly when Taehyung fell on his knees, it was Yoongi and Jungkook who s him because they didn’t want him to fell for the darkness(suicidal thoughts/taking his life) like they tried to did in the past.

Now I will share “Save Me” and “I’m Fine” verses for each member and explain their part of story. Since “I’m Fine” starts with Taehyung, let’s start his answer to his own questions which he gave through this song

⋅◦༻ KIM TAEHYUNG ༺◦⋅

During the WINGS short film of “Stigma”, the line that appeared on screen was:

”Here there are only different whales that speak different languages”

Which define his state of being lost and being in a surrounding where no one understands him. Since we that the song “whalien 52” was about the world’s loneliest whale as the whale was surrounded by many kinds of whales and species but no one could heard his cry or plea.

This part is connected with RM since Taehyung tried to approach him because he thought only he would understand him.

SAVE ME VERSE

Listen to my heartbeat. It‘s calling you at it’s own will.

If you “HYYH” and “WINGS” Era, then you would that the first instinct Taehyung had was to call Namjoon after he got caught and was afraid but Namjoon couldn’t answer it and it became “Stigma” for Taehyung and Namjoon became a liar for him because he didn’t showed up when he needed him and hence he fell for darkness.

I’M FINE VERSE

I open my eyes under the cold blue sky.

The sun that completely showers down on me makes me dizzy

In “Euphoria” MV, we saw a glimpse of the future where Taehyung opened his eyes slowly under a blue sky. A bandage was wrapped around his hand and he blocked his vision from the blinding sun which is right now matching his situation with the lyrics above.

Give me your hands, save me, save me

I need your love before I fall, fall

He plead for Namjoon to show up and save him because he was afraid. In Euphoria MV, after he removed his hand that was blocking sunlight, he saw all his friends around him and he was goofing around with them.

I’M FINE VERSE

I’m feeling just fine, fine, fine

I’ll let go of your hand now.

I know I’m all mine, mine, mine cuz I’m just fine

The bandage was the proof that he didn’t killed his father and when Namjoon gave him his hand, he took it and was surrounded by his friends and then he let go of his hand while Namjoon points out his injured hand. But he shrugged it because he finally overcome that phase and feel at ease now.

⋅◦༻ PARK JIMIN ༺◦⋅

During “WINGS” short film of “Lie”, the line that appeared on screen was:

Inside me I’m trapped and dead

Which defines his state of being helpless. Because for masking his fear, he pretended that he was sick but his fear was devouring him from the inside, alive.

SAVE ME VERSE

I want to breath. I hate this night.

I want to wake up. I hate being in dream.

Locked in me, I’m dead.

Don’t wanna be lonely. Just wanna be yours.

In webtoon and Notes, they showed that when Jimin was younger, he saw a murder from where he ran away which later became a trauma and his fear. And here he defined how he was breathless when he ran from there and he hates that night. He wished that he wake up from this bad dream because it was a torture for him. And the same line from Lie appeared that he is trapped inside a body where his real self is dead. So he plead to his friends that he wants them to be with him because he doesn’t want to be lonely as it is scary for him.

I’M FINE VERSE

To my heart’s content my breath fills within me and my heart beats.

I feel it, the fact that I’m living too easily

Then he answered that he finally felt the air filling his inside and the suffocation he felt once was gone now(as shown in Euphoria MV). And before when he called that he was dead from inside but now he felt his heart beating again. Now he felt that he is at ease now.

In this black darkness you are shining so bright.

The only thing that keeps him going was Hoseok and the other friends with whom he forgets his fear and even the darkest night become bearable for him. So he ask for help because as long as he is with them, he won’t fall.

I’m feeling just fine, fine, fine. I don’t want to be sad anymore

I could see the sunshine, shine, shine Cuz I’m just fine, just fine

Now finally Jimin overcame his fear and the night that scared the most, is finally over and he could see the sun shining upon him and as shown in Euphoria MV, he is better now.

⋅◦༻ KIM NAMJOON ༺◦⋅

In WINGS short film of REFLECTION, the line that appeared during “Reflection” was:

”I see someone through the mirror right now”

During the Reflection MV, he saw himself surrounded with mirrors and in Fake Love MV, when he saw his reflection, he saw a totally different person than he was because he went through a lot during the time he was apart with his friends.

Thank you for making me myself.

Making me be able to fly.

Giving me wings. Ironing me who was wrinkled.

Breaking me who was stuffy.

Waking me up who was in dream.

Whenever I think about you sun is shining.

And I throw away my sorrow.

Thank you. Be ourselves.

With the boys, Namjoon forgets his worries and he felt like finally he is living for himself. They felt like wings to him who let him fly and enjoy his youth. Because being the breadwinner of the family, he ed his house and he never had the chance to live for himself and he accepted this life until he met the boys who changed his whole perspective. Whenever he was with them, the dark clouds of worries and sorrow go away. And he just thanked them and he wanted all his friends to be their original self like they all are.

It’s okay, even if it isn’t “us”. Even if sadness erases me. Tha black clouds hangs again

All the pain, say goodbye. See ya

After parting with friends he roamed around alone and searched a job. The sadness that replaced with happiness when he was with his friends, was back and his sky once again filled with those worries and sorrows. The responsibilities is crushing him again and his wings (friends, the straw of hope) is being ripped out and he has no one around himself. So if he became someone who he wasn’t before but as long as he is safe, it doesn’t matter what he has become. If you reflection MV, he said in the last, “I have to survive”. Before it was, “we have to survive”. But when they all parted ways, he realized that he is his own friend. So he had to keep moving in order to survive. And then in Euphoria MV, he saw himself being surrounded by his friends again and he felt his pain going away and the sky shines brightly above him once again.

⋅◦༻ JEON JUNGKOOK ༺◦⋅

In WINGS short film of BEGIN, the line that appeared on the screen was:

”Because it’s darkest during the morning right before the sun comes up”

If you the sky during Euphoria MV, it was around dawn. And he was contemplating over his decision about whether to jump and end everything here or to wait to see whether a sun rise for him which could save him from his miserable life.

Why is it so dark here without you?

It’s dangerous, broken my figure.

Save me, I can’t hold myself. Can’t.

Give me your hands, save me, save me.

With his Hyungs, he forgets about his abusive stepfather and stepbrother because the Hyung gave him the love he craved all his life. But without them, he was lost and he didn’t think he could survive a day with his broken self. So he made one last call to Yoongi to see whether he could be saved by him because these suicidal thoughts were making him crazy and he couldn’t hold himself much longer like that.

Before the first person that came to his mind was Yoongi and he tried to him but couldn’t and after being separated and gotten completely shut by him, he stopped calling for him. He realized that his voice would never reached to him. So instead he tried to stick with the memories he had.

He learned his ways to survive in this world, and he started playing piano that Yoongi taught him. He understood that he is his only friend who he can look upto now.

The darkness of the dark night shakes my dream that has fallen asleep

But I’m not afraid, it’s okay it’s okay

It was about the moment when he realized that if he jumped down, he will loose all the good memories he had made with his Hyung because during Euphoria MV, when Jungkook close his eyes, he saw all his friends and that mere thought was enough to give him the he needs and bring a smile on his lips. So he stopped and the fear that was taking over him disappeared.

⋅◦༻ KIM SEOKJIN ༺◦⋅

In WINGS short film of AWAKE, the line that appeared on the screen was:

”I had no dream”

When Jin left all the friends, he has no remorse. He also doesn’t have any goals set for himself like the rest as it was his father's decision to make and he had to obey. In “Notes” Jin talk about how everyone of them had a goal set for themselves while he was lost because he had no dreams or goals to achieve.

The darkness of the dark night shakes my dream that has fallen asleep

If you the “HYYH” era, where Jin asked the to visit the sea and after that visit, they all parted and that was their last gathering as a group. After that Jin left the without a proper farewell. But after being parted all the memories he had with his friends hit him hard and each object reminds him of his friends (Awake MV).

That was a turning point and when he came back to Seoul, he visited the sea where he was given the chance to make everything right. But even after trying so many times, he was lacking because he was in doubts himself and that’s when he realized that in order to save his friends, he first needs to save himself from the state he was in. Because it’s okay if he had no dream or goal set for himself. He can find it out along the way.

⋅◦༻ JUNG HOSEOK ༺◦⋅

In WINGS short film of “MAMA”, the line that appeared on the screen was:

”Because the sky is blue, because the sun is shining”

It refers to his state of dream because as long as he see sun and the blue sky, he believes that he can dream whatever he wants.

The part of me and only hands cover my sorrow

The best of me. I have only you

Please level up your voice to make me laugh again. Play on.

In webtoon and the MAMA MV, we saw that Hoseok suffers from “Munchausen syndrome” and the only friends who understands him were the boys. Even if he collapsed suddenly, they were always there for him to give him a hand. They never laughed over his state nor left him like people before them. And they were the reason that he kept going. So he requested them to keep making him laugh so that he doesn’t the past that scares him when he closed his eyes.

I’m just fine, all my pain, I could overcome it, without you, just me

I’m just fine, don’t worry, I could laugh now because your voice let’s me know everything

If you the song “Just Dance”, there Hoseok finally made a promise to himself that he will make a way out for himself as he realized that keeping himself lock in the past only torture him and if he doesn’t let his fear overcome him then there’s nothing that could stop him. Because as long as he could hear the voices of his friends that motivates him to move forward, he will make it through.

⋅◦༻ MIN YOONGI ༺◦⋅

In WINGS short film of First Love, the line appeared on the screen was:

”Would I be different, if I had chosen a different path, if I had stopped and looked back”.

Here Yoongi talked about the decision he made of abandoning all his friends. And because of that decision, Jungkook took his life as Yoongi didn’t responded to his call and that guilt eat him alive. Even when he followed the whistle, he couldn’t find Jungkook.

SAVE ME VERSE

Tonight, moon shines more than usual.

Vacant room in my memory.

This lunatic night swallows me. Please save me tonight.

Please save me tonight. Please save me tonight.

In this childish craziness you can only save me tonight.

These lines referred to the motel night we saw in “I need you” MV where the moon was shining and he was sitting alone in the motel room, regretting his decisions. So he plead that someone come and save him because his thoughts are just screaming inside his head to take his life.

I’m so fine, you so fine. All the sadness and scars become a ing memory

So let’s send those away with a smile, we so fine. I’m so fine, you so fine

Our futures are only filled with happiness

So let’s leave those worries folded aside and let’s just enjoy, you worked hard, we so fine

In Euphoria MV, when they gathered around, it was after the time when they all went through something and made it through. So when they saw each other, they forgot all the sadness and once again enjoyed their time together like nothing happened. They ed each other and forgotten all their worries.

This bleak moonlight (V)

Would you be able to hear? (Jimin)

This faint echo (Jin)

Jungkook talk about the horrible future he foresee for his friend. Taehyung talk about the night when he fell for darkness and no one was there to save him. Jimin talked about the voice he heard that traumatized him. And Jin who heard the faint echo of his friends suffering but he was failing in saving as each time he made a mistake.

In this bad dream that will repeat itself. I place an order

Even if I fall again, I’m okay

I’m fine

Then finally they realized that nobody could save them from their misery unless they do try to save themselves first. So Jungkook talk about voicing out for himself as his mother and relatives didn’t voice out for him when his stepfather and stepbrother beats him. Jimin talked about trying coming over his fear even if he had to try over and over again. And even if he fell, he will stand again and face his fear. Jin finally realized that he can’t save everyone on his own. But with the help of his friends, he will place the order how to save them all. Taehyung then talked about that even if he fell, he will stand again and won’t let his past take a toll over him. And he won’t make a wrong decision again.

And if we see the last lines of the Rapline then it clears that they have to take fierce steps to survive. As they already went from a storm. So as long as they could hear each other’s voices and laughter, they can overcome anything. And the time they have together, they should cherish it and forget their worries for the time being because so far, they all have done a great job.
