Ever feel like you don’t want to go to your bullet journal because it is too much? I have been feeling that way for the last week about my bullet journal recently. Find out 7 ways to love your bullet journal again!

1. Go back to a spread you know you liked

Bullet journaling is all about experimenting and finding things you like. However, sometimes you come across spreads you don’t like when you are experimenting. It can be demotivating when you are constantly looking at a spread you don’t like. My tip? Go back to a spread that you know you like and will use! This will balance out the bad spreads with a good spread! If you keep experimenting with a bad spread, you may hit another bad spread. You might end up not wanting to use your bullet journal.

2. Remove things you have because “just cause”

Let’s be honest. Those pretty spreads we see on Instagram and Pinterest sometimes don’t fit our lifestyles. Do you have something that you added because everyone else has it?  For me, it was my habit tracker.

I found out that I was using a habit tracker because I felt like I needed to. Everyone was doing it in the bullet journalling community. All of a sudden I realized I don’t care for a habit tracker.  I found myself going back at the end of the week filling in my habits. It didn’t motivate me to keep doing my habits either. So I removed it.

Your journal is just for you. Nobody else. Get rid of the trackers you don’t really care about. Get rid of the weekly everyone is doing. Go put in the dailies you love so much. Or even just make a master to-do list no date if that works for you!

3. Go simple

This one is probably the easiest one to do. Looking on Pinterest and Instagram may make you feel like you have to make your spreads always look so amazing. You don’t need to do that. Do what makes you happy. If that is doing a 2-minute outline for the week, go for it!

I the days when I first started bullet journaling. Everything was black and white. It was so easy carrying around one pen and not worrying about carrying around the right colors. I didn’t do any calligraphy; just use my regular handwriting. To be honest with you, this is one of my favorite spreads. It reminds me that bullet journalling worked for me and I wanted to keep doing it.
