It's my first time to this community so I'll give the #BuJoIceBreakerChallenge a go!

What’s you’re name?

My name is Stina. But you can call me Shilen (my IGN way way back during younger days).

Where are you from?

Philippines.

When and where did you first hear of bullet journaling?

I started bullet journaling about 1st quarter of 2016, when I was about to fall into the rabbit hole of creative planning and all the things that came along with it. I am not making it sound dismal, but I thought of trying it because the basics were doable and the stuff I needed was already there at my desk. It was Ryder Carroll's youtube vid that took me into utilizing this system upto now.

What made you want to pursue it?

I needed just one tool that is flexible enough for my daily activities and future plans, which a pre - made planner can't provide me. It could be easily done digitally but apps don't work for me because I tend to forget them, and sometimes they crash. I am more into writing every detail, which is why this analog tool is more effective for me. I started with a minimalist approach and gradually settled with a hybrid one.

How long have you been journaling?

I started early 2016.

What types of materials do you use?

My gear usually comes in monochrome. Currently using an A6 dotted notebook, black and white pens and grey highlighter/s.

What’s one thing you enjoy about bullet journaling?

The functionality and versatility. It can also be minimal, artsy or a love child of the two.

What’s one thing you don’t really like about bullet journaling?

I like bullet journaling and the functionality of the system in it's pure form. But the way it has evolved puts an amount of effort and pressure especially to newbies as most could get overwhelmed and confused where/how to start. It took me some time to discover how to make it work for me, and the aesthetics came second.

What’s the most unique spread that you use in your journal?

A lunar calendar. Nothing special about it. I just want to know when I get moony. :joy:

Anything else you would like the community to know about you?

I am a stationery lover and an aspiring minimalist, I also enjoy reading, doodling, mmorpgs, graphic design, and cooking. I share my bullet journal happenings at www.instagram.com/shilen.qc/.
