...I turned minimalist?!

Yes! It’s true. I have gone minimalist!

...I still have my other bujo, and I will still use it...but for the reasons I’m about to tell you, I switched to the minimalist side in a new journal.

Strap yourselves in my friends, this is gonna be one heck of a long post :joy: !

One of the reasons I personally got into minimalist bullet journaling is that I don’t have the time to complete time consuming spreads.

I actually became a little anxious and didn’t want to use my bujo when I put this immense pressure on myself to make a really pretty/aesthetic spread. That’s really the opposite of what I want to feel when using my bujo!

Another reason is because it has made me more productive! Now that I don’t have to set up the spreads, I can focus more on my goals and tasks without taking my so little precious time away.

I also liked the idea of having space to write notes. I made the mistake of not leaving enough space to be able to write notes so I couldn’t reflect on events that happened. It has made me a lot more mindful in of seeing where things went wrong and how I could improve next time!

Like I mentioned earlier, I will still be using my pretty bujo. I love it so much but, for convenience sake, I’ve made this second bujo to just use on a daily basis. Just to jot something down quickly!

I’ll use my pretty one when I have the time or I feel like doodling. I find it a great way to do something artsy, without having to make the effort of doing something too large scale.

As many videos I’ve seen have been telling you that “you’re making a mistake by having your journal aesthetically pleasing” “you shouldn’t do that...”....I believe that you should do whatever is right for you. Believe in your own judgement and what works for you, might not work for others.

New s of the bujo system might also feel intimidated by all the fancy schmancy pens and supplies people use. You don’t need them, if you don’t want them. You just need a pen & a notebook. Heck, mine cost me £3!

There is literally no right or wrong way to journal.

You don’t need to be fancy, just like you don’t need to be minimalistic either - nor fit in with a specific theme.

It’s all personal preference. You do you!

Well if you got this far, then hats off to you haha! I hope you enjoyed reading my waffle and I hope it made some sense! Thanks for reading down here, I’ll see you In my next post!
