hi everyone! i can’t believe it’s the first month of

2021! so i have been wanting to do a koi fish

theme for a while, and i thought january would be

the perfect month to do that theme in!

i’m rly proud of how this setup turned out, and

the koi fish are actually rly easy to draw!!

so without further ado, let’s get into the setup!

                       ꒰ how i made the spreads  ⃗ -;  。

.                    COVER PAGE: first, i wrote out “january” in calligraphy on a separate piece of paper, then cut it out and glued it to the page. then, i sketched out a bunch of koi fish surrounding the title and outlined them. finally, i colored the fish by adding little splotches of orange and black, and also drew some bubbles!

                    CALENDAR: first, i figured out the spacing (4 grid spaces wide, 4 down). next, i outlined it with my pigma micron PN and wrote each day of the month inside the little boxes. then, i used my orange crayola supertip to write “january” at the top in calligraphy and used my smoke blue zebra mildliner to write “2021” next to it. then i used that same mildliner to make a stroke above the calendar and then i wrote the days of the week on it. after that, i made a goals section on the side and an amino growth tracker for BJA at the bottom. finally, i drew two interacting koi fish on the left side and added some bubbles, washi tape, and a sticker!

                    HABIT TRACKER: first i wrote out “habit tracker” in calligraphy on a separate piece of paper, then cut it out and glued it to the top of the page. then i drew out each tracker and used my colors of the month to made a header for each tracker and wrote out each habit. after that i had some room at the bottom so i decided to make a quote, and it’s a verse from Psalm 93 that says “mightier than the waves of the sea is his love for you” and i thought that was fitting for the theme! finally i drew some koi fish at the top and added some bubbles!

             

                    MOOD TRACKER: first i wrote out “mood tracker” in calligraphy with my orange supertip on a separate piece of paper, then cut it out and glued it to the top of the page. next i listed out the numbers 1-31 on the side and then drew a line next to that. then i made a color key at the top with different moods corresponding to different colors. finally i added some bubbles at the top!

             

                   WEEKLY SPREAD: i decided to recreate an old layout bc it rly works for me! first i figured out the spacing for each day (9 grid spaces tall, 12 grid spaces wide) next i wrote out each day of the week in calligraphy and wrote the number next to it. then i made the weekly events sidebar by drawing a long rectangle then dividing it into 7 sections for each day. then i created a notes section on the right side. after that i made a quote that says “she is water. powerful enough to drown you, soft enough to cleanse you, deep enough to save you” and i thought that was rly fitting for the theme! then i drew some koi fish at the bottom and one by the quote. finally i added some bubbles and washi tape!
