So if you were wondering how I take my photos, you've come to the right place. Hope you are ready for this fantastic set up I have.
Just note, I'm still experimenting with aesthetics and lighting. What I have here is what I have been doing lately.
How
I take my pictures with my Samsung Galaxy S5 which I had for a couple of years now. (Finances are tight at the moment so I haven't been able to upgrade yet. This phone works. I like how it takes pictures for now. It is officially paid off. It will do. ) I use this to take photos for both my Instagram and Blog.

When
With how my condo is, the lighting is best in the afternoon - between the hours of 5pm and 7pm. It's even better when its a clear sunny day. If I can't catch the sunlight, I take it anytime I don't have work.
Where
So, I've moved around quite a bit especially during university. Because of that, to make a long story short, I have no desk.
The tables around the house aren't in ideal places for lighting and are too heavy to move. I don't have wood floors to take the pretty wood background flatlays. What I do have is an extra piece of a bookshelf that can't fit in my current arrangement situation. It's not heavy and I can sit it on anything in my bedroom like my bed or ottoman, or on my bathroom sink. (My bathroom has great lighting for pictures. ) On top of the shelf, I place a white pillowcase.

So there's my photo set up. Nothing too overtop. No fancy, expensive equipment. Honestly, it's not entirely necessary. Good lighting seems to be a key in great photos. Also good editing skills but that's a different kind of post...
Hope you learned something that can help! Happy Journaling!

You just gave me the idea to use my pillow as a background :joy: , we'll see how it goes!
What editing did you use for this graphic?
