WEEK 18

Hi friends! It’s a new week and a new month, but for me my monthly spreads will have to wait until after I’m done with school this weekend. That’s right! One more week, and I’ll (hopefully) have a degree in political science and have a great summer holiday ahead of me!

But before that, here’s my spread for this week. This May I am releasing my inner nerd, and going full on Sailor Moon! At least, that’s my plan. So far I’ve only made this spread :joy:

This week is the Rainbow Pride Week in Tokyo, which is another reason why I chose Sailor Moon as my theme. After all, Sailor Moon, although an old manga/show, had a lot of positive attitude towards queer people. Not only are two of the Sailor soldiers gay (Sailor Uranus and Neptune), but one of them is even hinted at being non-binary (Uranus), although such a word didn’t really exist at the time in the same way as today. There’s also one instance where Sailor Moon receives a love letter from a girl at school, and instead of being all “shouldn’t you be giving this to a boy?”, she takes the girl’s feelings seriously, and apologizes for not feeling the same way. Bottom line is; Sailor Moon is awesome, queer folks are awesome, we are all awesome, and this week is all about love.
