I'm on the search for a new mechanical pencil that will be easy to work with. Something light in weight but has a good shade pay off on paper. If you know some please don't hesitate to comment below. Thank You  :kissing_closed_eyes:

Find something from Japan, though theses are good, too
All of them are good. The farber castell one is really heavy though, but I personally like heavy pencils. But maybe you can look up the ones from muji. They are soooo good. One of them, it’s a plastic one, is really really light weight and costs around 1,50$
I have this generic pencil from aliexpress that was like 40 cents. It's super cute and I love it!
I like the super cheap .5mm ones from Walmart and the dollar store. That's what I grew up drawing with.
I like the staedtler ones, but honestly any old dollar store one will do.
The important factor is actually the lead. It's gotta be the size and softness you like.
Size ranges from .3 to .9 usually people like .5 or .7 with .5 being more common recently
B is softer H is harder, HB is in the middle. The softer ones don't snap as easily, but they smear easier. They tend to be darker color the hard ones have a more consistent line, are a bit lighter and snap a bit easier.
I use HB lead in .5 size. All the Japanese brands are very good, often lighter weight I just am fond of the staedtler.
