Icetail yowled out in terror as the large bird carried him away, it's long claws piercing his shoulders. He stared at Maple, who sat cowering in the shelter of some rocks. Icetail quickly turned his head and snapped at the bird's leg, making it's grasp loosen before quickly growing even tighter. Suddenly a loud boom was made and a loud ringing sound echoed within his ear. The hawk quickly fell to the ground, it's claws tearing through the flesh on his sides.
Icetail wondered around for what seemed like an eternity, though it was probably only a season. Icetail lied down next to a thunderpath, wondering what he would do and where he'd go.
Icetail slowly blinked open his eyes, it was dawn by now, a whole night must have ed. Icetail sat up and shook his head, his fur spiking up. Suddenly a strange voice was heard behind him. "Who are you?" A tall black tom stood beside him, licking his wounds clean. "I'm Icetail. You?" The tom froze, staring him in the eyes for a long moment that seemed to last for moons. "Crow. Go back to your home." Icetail slowly began to rise to his paws. "Truth be told. I have no clue where home is." Crow sighed and pointed his muzzle towards a dense group of trees. "You may go to that colony. Don't you dare tell them you met me."
Before Icetail could respond, Crow bounded away. Icetail huffed and padded towards the trees. Suddenly a cat leaped out from behind a large group of brambles, their brown tabby pelt bristled. "You cant just walk into The Forest Colony like that!" Icetail jumped back, staring at the cat in shock. "You don't smell like a colony cat? Did Coco send you?" Icetail almost mentioned Crow before ing what the tom had said. 'Don't you dare tell them you saw me!' "Yes, Coco sent me." The tom looked him for a moment. "Alright, we have a spare den in the back. I hope you'll come to the gathering at the end of the season." Icetail nodded and slowly padded into the camp, jumping as the tom yowled out. "Maggie! Come here right now!" Icetail froze, watching the pretty she-cat bound up to the tabby. "Once he starts to get comfortable here, will you show him the territory?" Maggie quickly shook her head, bounding back to her post on the other side of the camp.
A Month Later
Icetail smirked as he crept against the crumbling stone cliff side that made a wall of the Mountain Domain's camp. He was for once glad for the festivals! He quickly lunged at the single guard that had stayed behind. He but her neck and quickly jerked back, not stopping when he felt the warm, thick blood splatter against his muzzle. The she-cat gasped for air, choking as blood filled her throat. A small snap alerted him that the she-cat was dead, but he kept on pulling. He stumbled backwards, blood covering his muzzle and chest. He stared down at the dead cat, their head only holding on by their broken neck bone. Icetail let out a weird chirping, followed by a soft chattering sound. A group of cats quickly leaped out of trees and from bushes. The cats quickly flooded into the camp, killing off the cats that stayed behind. Icetail froze in terror as he saw a small, tortoieshell cat lying in the entrance of a small cave like den. He slowly padded up to the mangled body of the she-cat, his heart pounding so hard he thought it'd burst right out of his chest. He looked the cat over, stopping near their face. He slowly pulled up the eyelid with his paw, sighing with relief when he saw the cat's amber eyes. This was not Maple. Spark padded up to him, his thin leader almost tripping over her own paws. "You should have stayed back in the camp. . the town. You're getting weaker than anybody else." Spark shook her head, quickly changing the subject. "I'm glad you could earn your keep. Just 'Gotta eat to live. . " Icetail raised his head "'Gotta steal to eat.' Yeah I ." Spark glared up at him, her green eyes blazing. "Then why did you seem so upset over some random cat?" Icetail sighed, lowering his head. "I'm sorry my queen. I thought they were somebody I used to know." Spark nodded, stumbling away.
Icetail looked at the sky, his gray eyes gleaming with hope. He had never thought Maple was near here, but she may be. Suddenly an idea popped into his head. "Spark!" The she-cat looked at him. "I'll go wash up and. .check in on the other colonies at the gathering." Spark nodded, before disappearing into the group of raiding cats. Icetail raced off towards the river, knowing he might see Maple at the festival if she was even here in the colonies.
