Ok let me make this very clear. I AM NOT MAKING THIS POST TO BE CONTROVERSIAL OR DRAMATIC I JUST FEEL THIS NEEDS TO BE TALKED ABOUT I'VE BEEN HOLDING IT BACK FOR A LONG TIME AND IF IM PUNISHED IM WILLING TO ACCEPT THE RISK.

So why was this written into the show. Understand the world was quite different back when code geass came out. It was far before lgbtq+ marriage was legalized and back in the late 2000s it was considered to be acceptable. it it gay hate was all over the place back then. the song same love yeah im pretty sure that was meant to tackle gay hate.
So why was the joke written in? Like i said times were different back then and the writers probably thaught it would be funny to add in that joke because that type of dog shit behavior was acceptable back then for god knows why.
If cg came out in 2015 the line would likely end up becoming a dub change. If it came out today the episode would be pulled and twitter would be furious.
So why am i making this post even though it's clearly a bad idea? 1. Because i find the line extremely insulting and 2. I felt it needed to be talked about and i've been holding it back forever. Sorry if i upset anybody.
