Pete and Mikey met in 2003 when My Chemical Romance played at the Fireside Bowl in Chicago. They didn't talk for long. However the next year, 2004, they toured together on Warped Tour and both bands became friends. Pete actually started including MCR lyrics into interview answers. However they only mentioned each other now and then, they did state they were friends.

In April of 2005, however, Mikey is seen wearing Pete's famous white denim jacket to a Fueled By Ramen concert, watching Fall Out Boy. At this point it is safe to assume they were, at the minimum, friends.

This is also around the period of their "gang" Sweet Little Dudes, which little only consists of the two of them because they are cute, dumb, and adorable. Pete even made it a shirt! He even started referencing a lot. Actually for a while it became his default answer for everything.

During Bamboozled in 2005 both FOB and MCR played in Jersey and Mikey was seen either sidestage or close by watching them play. It was after Bamboozled that Pete, on livejournal updated his list of what got him "hot and bothered" to include two things:

1. Having a crush on a person I speak to near daily

2. White denim jackets

This brings us to; Warped Tour 2005, also known as The Summer Of Like. Fun fact, that was the working title of Bang The Doldrums.

There were fan reports of Mikey watching Pete offstage, but nothing much really until Pete started posting on his blog again

Amazing new mexico sunset. I’m hanging on a bridge with my friend mikey way from my chem. Its all orange and pink above us. We went to another waterpark again. I love high fives again. Totally back in love. Saw the most amazing movie… I think its called spirited away. Watch it.

Okay Pete, we see you. Not long after that on July 4th he made another post which ended with:

Hot and miserable but totally in love.

However after that he started getting extremely cryptic, well as cryptic as Pete Wentz can get.

I'd post a lot of them but that would be, well, a lot. He was extremely active. Just trust me when I say they are so swert and adorable and he continued to steal his internet signal from My Chem.

However on July 17th he posted this on his Fueled by Ramen blog

wrote you a goodbye note (you just wrote me off) on your arm when you ed out. bestfriends, exfriends- better off as lovers not the other way around. racing through the city in the back of yellow checkered cars. the takeoffs are the worst but the skin from your shoulder to your ear makes it all worth it. and im sorry the way my moods flicker on and off like old light on your porch, but i know you wouldn’t have it any other way. sneaking in your window instead of out. the way you hold a cigarette cause you don’t know what to do with your hands when we are sitting this close. the way the waists of pants feel better at the ankles. the way you always were my best excuse for calling in sick on everyone else. i miss you.

Recognize the lyrics? They're from Bang The Doldrums, off of Infinity On High. Clearly the word lipstick was added to make it sound like he was talking about a girl. Also the waist of the pants feeling better around the ankles ended up not becoming part of the song. This album just... it gets me.

There are very few photos of them together around this period. Fan reports have them refusing to take pictures together. However, Mikey was often spotted around the Clandestine Tent (Pete's clothing line). As well as Mikey wearing a sweatshirt from Pete's brand.

There was also a period of time where My Chem and FOB loved exchanging band . Mikey would quite often take over for Pete so Petr could bring his mic into the crowd. And times where Pete would just sit on stage and watch Mikey play.

Pete also loved dedicating songs to Mikey while Mikey was off to the side watching them. Going so far as to call him onstage to do so. He dedicated a song once to Mikey Revenge. Not long after Warped Mikey changed his Myspace to Mikey Revenge and Pete made a shirt for Clandestine that said "I :hearts: Revenge" and started wearing it... a lot.

Pete also started posting vaguely suggestive pictures/caption in his friendorenemies . One that read "I wish you were my bass, not just my friend" I mean, I am pretty sure you get the picture since in this time period Pete got extremely personal with his bass, licking it and the likes. I mean there is also the innocent one, since this is post Warped and he wasn't around Mikey as much.

Warped tour was fun. Since being home I ed that showering and sleeping are fun too. My real feelings on the sunburst bass. I loved that thing. But then it started cheating on me with mikey way. I had to hit it. Its not my fault- spousal abuse is an ugly thing. I’m in therapy that includes playing lots of warcraft online. Writing messages on your arm for someone to see at a show is the new away message - stealing peoples real diary is the new livejournal.

And through Warped Mikey had words written on his arms. I mean, I'm just saying.

Post-Warped is when things go a little wonky. The second "gang" was first mentioned (The Fraternal Order Of The Handsome Boy) and around Christmas Mikey got engaged. Please note, it has been mentioned that he and his fiancee were not together during Warped and to top it off there was a rumor that Pete dated her at one point. Note I said rumor, it was never addressed and the question always dodged.

Then there was nothing until February 19th when Pete and Mikey were at a party together. Pete posted the picture on his friendsorenemies and later posted a blog saying this:

"Something that isn't ever going to happen" I mean the timing of the entry, come on guys.

On March 4 2006, Mikey attended the absolut kravitz launch party in nyc w/ Pete and Joe and probably others, and then the next day fob played a secret show under the name: saved latin. During this show they brought Mikey onstage to play bass. Pete and Mikey took a picture that night that is like absolutely adorable and they look really close with Mikey's head leaning against Pete's head and his arm around Pete's shoulders.

After this a lot of drama went down with Pete's personal photos being released and the whole HeyChris situation, which Mikey got dragged into. Willingly or not is unknown. But either way Mikey was used to get back at Pete, clearly meaning Mikey was important enough to Pete to be used.

As for cutr things, Pete liked to mention Mikey in his away messages on AOL and he constantly wore a pin with Mikey's face on it.

In the Summer of 06 there are a series of heartbreaking blogs from Pete. It was around this time that FOB were on Warped again and this time around My Chem weren't around to them. The most notable entry however was this

I put the title in bold for you. Yes, their second gang. As you can see, this is probably definitely about Mikey. Also the line “i cast a spell on you to make you think of me the very same way i think of you” may sound familiar as it made it into that aforementioned song that is VERY clearly about mikey, aka bang the doldrums, i cast a spell over the west to make you think of me, the same way i think of you.

Wow, right? That's not all. Not even close, I'm afraid.

there is one single pair of eyes that could ever decode any of this. put another “x” on the calendar. summer is on its deathebd. there is simply nothing worse than knowing the ending- that no matter what curve balls or uphill come your way- it still turns out the same. this year its stripes and pumps, last year it was dancefloors and you. she keeps talking, i keep staying the same. did you ever change your mind about someone and then just realize it was a fucking haircut. put me in a frame on your wall, just to keep me out of trouble. i gotta say i ire bob dylan for being honest about his new record. noone ever is. its like when the ad campaign rolls out everyone is smiling and at their best even if they are not sure. an affectionate friend told me everything i ever needed to know about anything. “freeze! put down that fucking laptop!”. everything is always either digging a hole or digging yourself out of one. and just when you have it all figured out you should just sift through your pile of “never again"s. quite a collection. blow off the dust. im sure they will be worth something to someone sometime. its buzzing in the back of your head and out of your fingertips. pull back the shade- the road outside of my house is paved with good intentions. but it is hell on the undercarriage of the car so we’re gonna have to hire a construction crew. i wonder if anyone else things of you as much as i do, even you.

Some of this entry actually made it into a Panic! At The Disco song called "The Calendar".

To continue, Pete has said in an AP interview that he is "gay above the waist." Doesn't need explaining, to be honest. What is interesting, however, is the line in Bang The Doldrums "happily ever after below the waist" and what it's alluding to.

A lot of lines from 05/06 have ended up in a lot of Fall Out Boy's songs. I'd list them, but there are a lot and this post is already extremely long.

As for Mikey's side in all this we don't really have much. Mikey has always been a more reserved person, more private. He has answered a question with the least convincing answer in the world, however:

Me and pete wentz aren’t dating. We are both heterosexual males….sort of…maybe…umm…next!

After 06 however there isn't much in the way of them referencing each other. Twitter came out and they have tweeted each other. They clearly talk outside twitter judging from some if the tweets and they have brought each other stuff back from Japan (Green Tea Kit Kats, amazing).

Mikey judged a karaoke night in march '08 at angels and kings, nyc (a nightclub opened by and part-owned by Pete).

And that's really it, at least publicly. Judge what you will.
