April Poetry Bash

Reeling from the success of the Garbage Content Event, the moderation team is proud to present: Poetry Bash! Over the year we've been asked to have a bigger focus on poetry, and while we do feature poems daily, we agree that they could get a bit more love. And thus this event was born! For one whole Saturday, we will only be featuring poems, as well as encourage more people to create poetry by listing a prompt list.

1) Follow the [Guidelines] at all times.

2) Pick a prompt from the list given in this post.

3) Post your entry to the event with the hashtag #AprilPoetry on April 13th. The event starts when the first available's timezone switches to the 13th, and ends when the American s go to sleep.

4) Only poems will be featured this day. However you do not have to actively participate in the event to earn a feature for your poem. We're just actively seeking out the prompts.

5) You can post as many poems as you want to, however our feature standards remain. One feature per person in the feed. However this doesn't mean that you can spam out the poems.

6) Art and other content will only be broadcast this day, but rest assured we will save the good pieces to be featured on the 14th.

- The beauty of nature

- Mourning the deceased

- Desperateness for something (love, revenge, a luxury, etc)

- Senses (Smell of the woods, feeling of silk, sound of the waves, etc)

- A story of betrayal

- Great Love/Adoration

- Sweet and Spicy

- Polar Opposites

- Prejudice

- Narcissism/Egotistic

- Be Careful of What You Wish For

While we love to come up with events on our own, there's no doubt a few people out there with a genius idea to a new event. Events are generally announced shortly before they are held, and they have a limited runtime set in a specific time frame, for the most part a single day. Challenges on the other hand, have prizes and a deadline for submissions. If Poetry Bash is successful, we might hold one once a month. Or it could be something entirely different.
