Miguel worked at a theatre up in New York City. He worked with props and such. His job was incredibly boring and repetitive, until one day, he met a dresser backstage. His name was Connor Murphy, and he was :sparkles: c u t e :sparkles:

They talked while the show-- Heathers --went on. And Connor was incredibly sweet to him, and feelings had been caught.

So he did what he did best. He went home and listened to Hamilton's love songs. An icon.

They started talking backstage every night and Miguel had fallen head over heels for this boy. Every night they'd just be chatting away about everything, anything, and nothing all at the same time.

But before Connor could go on the-- now curtained --stage every night with Miguel to chat while he swept up confetti, someone would come to take him away.

It was Evan Hansen. He played Jason Dean, and Connor was his dresser. He took him back to the dressing room. And that would be normal if Miguel didn't have raging feelings for Connor.

He just hoped Evan didn't feel that way about Connor. And he hoped Connor didn't feel that way about Evan.

They continued this cycle over and over, and Miguel was patient. He wanted to take it slow anyway. But he desperately wanted to take it faster than Evan. Assuming that he liked Connor, that is.

Either way, Miguel knew this was his one chance. He wasn't about to waste it.

One day Evans psycho Ex boyfriend, Chad, caused a lockdown. Miguel was ready to tell Connor how he felt now. So he found him. Evan was sleeping with his head on Connors shoulder, and Connor looked- upset.

Miguel sat on the pavement of the panic room in front of Connor. And he asked what was wrong first because he had a sense of empathy, and that came before anything.

And then Connor told him he had fallen for Evan. He told him to try to avoid him, but then decided he needed to be a decent human, and told him to tell Evan how he felt, even though his heart was breaking.

Every conversation with Connor became more and more painful. He heard about his growing relationship with Evan. "He held my hand yesterday" or "we started cuddling last night" and eventually, "he said he liked me back!"

He still dreamed of what it would be like if he had asked Connor out before asking what was wrong. Or if he had asked him earlier. Would he have said no because of his feelings for Evan?

Honestly, even that would be better than Connor not knowing.

They were together. Miguel had no chance of getting with Connor. Maybe he could've when things were early, but he never tried.

God, why didn't he try?

They were always all over each other. Kissing and hugging and holding hands and sitting practically on top of each other. He hated it. He wanted to be where Evan was.

But he didn't have a chance. That was probably his fault. And now it was his job to let go, and ive of them.

Even though his heart was shattered, and he felt so damn helpless.
