by a daughter who’s proud

there are days I say,

“no man is really good,”

too many stories,

too many scars —

i almost start to believe it.

but then

i look at my dad.

i’m the spoiled one,

the one who gets her way

with just a look, a smile,

and he says “yes” — always.

i used to think it’s because I’m his daughter.

but it’s more than that.

it’s just who he is.

we were on a bus one day,

crowded, noisy — the usual rush.

an old man got on,

no cash, no way to pay.

without a second thought,

my dad stepped in.

paid for him, no questions,

just kindness — quiet and simple.

then I watched him again —

helping strangers with heavy bags,

holding doors, offering smiles

to people he doesn’t even know.

that’s when it hit me.

he’s not just a good father.

he’s a good man.

a good son,

a good husband,

a kind human being.

not just to us,

but to the world.

so every time I feel like saying,

“no man is truly good,”

he proves me wrong.

and honestly

in this?

i love being proved wrong.
