About My Art Journey
༺═──────────────═༻
When did you start doing art?
I can’t pinpoint the exact time, but I started by mimicking my elder sister. Her creativity really pulled me in.
What made you get into art?
Watching my sister draw sparked my curiosity and iration. I picked up a pencil and never stopped.
What motivates/inspires you to make art?
Nature, emotions, music, and small beautiful moments in daily life. Sometimes it’s just a feeling I can’t put into words — so I draw it.
What is your method or go-to for dealing with art block?
I take a step back, do something relaxing like cooking or listening to music. Sometimes flipping through old work or doodling aimlessly helps me get back into flow.
What medium do you work with the most?
Traditional — I love working with pens, fine liners, and markers.
Is there a medium that has a special place in your heart?
Yes, ink — especially for mandala and Madhubani work. There's something therapeutic about those clean lines.
What art style do you primarily work in?
Traditional art styles — especially Indian folk art like Madhubani, and intricate patterns like Mandala.
What are a couple of things about your current style that you are happy with?
I’m proud of the detailing and symmetry I’ve developed over time. My patience and precision have grown a lot.
What are a couple of things about your art style that you want to change, and how do you plan to change them?
I want to explore more expressive and abstract elements, maybe add more color and emotion. I plan to experiment with watercolors and digital tools.
Do you follow any artists? If so, who are your top 3?
I mostly follow my sister — her work continues to inspire me daily. I ire her growth and authenticity.
What are your plans for art? Is it a hobby, something you want to do professionally (if so, what profession), or are you currently doing it professionally?
It’s my safe space — definitely a hobby, an escape from reality. But who knows, maybe one day I’ll turn it into something more.
Are you self-taught or did you go to art school?
Self-taught — every piece has been a step in learning and self-discovery.
How long does it take you to make an art piece?
Totally depends on the size and detail — it can range from a few hours to several days.
Do you usually finish your pieces, or are you more of a ‘forever unfinished, I’ll totally come back to it’ artist? Or maybe a bit of both?
I’m definitely a finisher. I like to complete what I start — there’s a sense of satisfaction in it.
What is some advice you would give your younger self about art?
Don’t compare your journey with others. Art isn’t about being perfect — it’s about expression. Keep creating, stay curious, and trust the process.
