Drone connection problem

I just got a DJI mavic pro platinum and it won’t connect with the Dji go app. I’ve looked over some videos and it seems like right when you open the app it lets you sync with your drone and customize its controls. The app won’t let me do that and I can’t connect to my drone. Does anyone know how to help?
