I just finished a game of dungeons and dragons today and a player came up to me saying that they were loosing interest in my campaign. They want it to be more adventurous. I'm not sure what to do.

Create a villain or a threat that changes everything. Maybe a dragon that destroys their home village, or a beholder that kills the party's beloved NPC. Or maybe something that has to do with the character specifically
both are very good, but also make sure your not stuck at one place all the time, go out and adventure other area and add thing that they may run into like a group of gnolls who are friendly or an elderly lady testing people to see who is selfish to themself.
sure gnoll are evil in alignment, but ill tell you this, alignment is what commonly you will run into. so add your twist on some monster like a red dragon is a vegan for one lol.
Maybe do a storyline tailored to their characters backstory? Give them their own little arc, that's what my old dm used to do for us
Put a unique twist that you wouldn't normally do in a game
