Weaving through the Arent Forest, it's canopy so thick that no light penetrates to the ground below. The Autumn brother lowers his head, then crouches to look at small set of wolf tracks. It has been well over a year, a year hopeing to find his Great Hunt....all of his sibilings had found theirs, he sadly had not. His Autumn Mother had said "Be patient." That is the Autumn way, wait, patience stand for days in one spot without motion. Patince the prey will come and not know you are there. He knows this, but still, without the great hunt ...it means he is still a "child" waiting to awaken. The wolf tracks are fresh leading towards the Siskanski Elven encampment, where his sister lays sick. Standing up he heads easily through the forest, even in this darkness the shadow positions are known...so from shadow to shadow his steps fall.
In moments stopping within inches of the cave pausing to watch an Autumn brother enter then silently leave. No sound from the brother, their golden eyes both lock for a moment. No his brother was not selected, and that Autumn was the last in line no other to go into the cave. Brows furrowing he enters, searching out the golden eyes of the Alpha Autumn Mother to find if there is anything to be done....Four he knew are needed or this quest, one of each season, without Autumn means failure. The Autumn Mother looks at him, then down at his sister who lays silently in her arms. No words said, he walks quetly over pulling out his waterskin filled with fresh water from their homeland, setting it gently on the floor next to the Mother. Suddenly his little sister moves, her hand quickly snatching his finger and gripping firmly. Her eyes opening, golden orbs lighting up and changing to the color of a harvest moon. It is done, that quickly and without sound, or word, His Great Hunt decided in an instant.....find what is needed to heal his sister, remove all that stand in his way. His life has changed, the wait is over, child name now lost as he is now Her Autumn Kai.
