MY SEA SIMPING GOT FEATURED?!? TYSM!!!! :sob:
I was seriously simping over the sea when I wrote this but I love it too much for it to die in my drafts so you guys can have it, here’s a silly little poem about Poseidon!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Undertow
You came with thunder in your chest,
A god of salt and cyclone breath.
The ocean bowed at your behest,
I offered peace, you answered: death.
Your eyes are shipwrecks yet unclaimed,
Your veins, the pulse of undertide.
Your name, by seaglass hearts proclaimed,
Is carved where sunken lovers hide.
I wear the seaweed in my hair,
The barnacles that bloom for you.
I speak in shells, in storms, in prayer,
To bleed your shades of ocean blue.
You are the tempest’s fevered kiss,
The whirlpool’s cruel, unyielding vow.
I’d give my soul for one abyss
To drown where you are ruling now.
I am no lighthouse, still and bright,
I am the ship that sails for flame.
You are the moon that owns the night,
And I, the tide that knows your name.
I’ve choked on salt, wept in your rain,
I’ve felt the coral of your wrath.
Yet here I float, and beg again
To walk your ever drifting path.
Oh, let me sink where sirens sleep,
Where pearls still keep your voice entombed.
For love like yours is cold and deep,
And I was always meant to bloom.
Not on the shore, but in the wave,
Not in the sun, but down below.
Where sea gods call, and mortals crave,
Where none return.
But all still go.
