Greetings, FTA. We’re the Blogging Bandits Group of FTA here with our first big collab project. Our group decided to look at our favorite friendships of the series and share them with the community. Friendship is what Fairy Tail is about and is also a very special part of the Blogging Bandits group. Our group is formed by many great bloggers who have a lot of fun chatting away and sharing the struggles of writing blogs lol. We hope you all enjoy this friendship collaboration by some dear friends.

Yo, Yoh here to start things off in this first Blogging Bandits Group Collab (oh, of course I’mma be pestering this group for more collab projects in the future :eyes: Look out). Fairy Tail is all about friendship and the strength it gives you. I have been wanting to write about one BroTP that gets no attention even though their friendship is front and center for the series. I also figured I could talk about another very meaningful friendship in the series. Hope you enjoy this~
~Happy and Lucy~

Like I said, this friendship is front and center of the series, but hardly ever gets any sort of attention which is really sad. Most people focus on Natsu and Lucy or on Natsu and Happy, but Happy and Lucy are very close friends. I’m one of those ruthless friendships who gives my friends a lot of grief but I will always have their back; like playing Mario Party, I have told her to go to the opposite side of the board while laughing (obviously not giving her the best advice) and she has listened to me twice XD. Happy and Lucy embody this friendship so well. They are constantly giving one another a hard time. When Lucy is with any guy really, Happy is there to tease her being like “They’re in love~” like when Loke came to rescue her when Bickslow attacked her. Lucy returned the favor when Carla appeared in the Nirvana Arc and Happy got really nervous and was obviously crushing on the new feline friend.
Giving each other grief is a sign of a healthy friendship when you can balance the teasing with the essential element of being there for your friend. Friends should always have one another’s back, but also be able to tease them about more harmless manners. While Happy and Lucy tease each other a lot (especially Happy to Lucy), the pair are there to help each other whenever things happen. Happy will carry Lucy out of danger or to wherever is needed. He also has always been encouraging in moments needed. During the Nirvana Arc, Natsu, Lucy, Gray, and Happy took a severe beating from Master Zero, but it was learned that the Alliance could defeat Nirvana if they all worked together to destroy the lacrimas at the legs. Happy went with Lucy to one of the lacrimas and was showing concern for Lucy seeing how rough of a condition she was in and knowing she was low or out of magic power. Lucy told him she would be okay and that she would figure something out. He is really worried but knows she will figure out a way with how determined she was to help and wanted to offer the help he could.
Finally, the main moment that showed how much Happy cared for her was during the Grand Magic Games Arc where Future!Lucy comes to their rescue. Happy constantly is giving the blonde a rough time in the series, calling her heavy or desperate, but this one particular moment shows that he truly cherishes her. When Future~Lucy jumps in front of her past self to take the arrow Rogue sent her way, everyone looks on in horror. As Future!Lucy lies dying on the ground, Happy is sobbing and tells her that even if she’s from a different time or world, she’s still their Lucy, their friend, and they love her and don’t want to lose her. This scene hurts so bad to watch because everyone is so devastated by seeing their friend die and Happy’s full sobbing fit and words hits even harder. He may give her a hard time, but he loves her so much and would never want her gone. It’s evident how much he loves her and Lucy has also been there to help Happy in times of need too. They are really close and share a lot of screen time together but their friendship is often overlooked due to Natsu because him and Happy are best buds while Natsu and Lucy are such close friendships many people ship them together, but gosh darn it, Happy and Lucy are ultimate best friends for sure.

Hello everyone! It’s mavis here crawling out of the shadows of can’t write and telling myself yes you can! Here is my part and honestly it made me miss blogging so much so, enjoy everyone 🥰

This friendship is very in the shadows of the anime and also very overlooked if I have to say myself. It’s always Mavis and Zera but there is so much more to mavis than just those two. If you’re not very sure who Yuri is, he’s Makarvo’s father who died very young in his childhood along with his mother Rita. Yuri and Mavis first met when he and two other men landed on Tenrou looking for the tenrou jade. It only then did Mavis realize that the Jade was taken from Blue Skull. Yuri agreed to take Mavis off the island and her “friend” Zera who we didn’t know at the time was just a real illusion Mavis created. You can tell how sympathetic Yuri was to Mavis when he went back to help her pack. You can see on his face that she’s talking to no one but he also knew she’s been alone for so long and her way of coping was to create a friend.
It’s very easy to see that Yuri was like the little kid in his friend group. He had a lot of spunk in him, he was also cheeky and kid-like almost. The one moment that sticks out that Mavis was ready to put childish things away was the battle against Blue Skull. Yuri finally got his hands on the tenrou jewel and because of the bad magic in it, Yuri was turned into a giant skeleton dragon. Yuri had no sense of who he was and Mavis had to help him. He took her away from her solitude on the island and gave her a new lease on life. Mavis only had one thing on her mind and that was to save him. Earlier, when she met Zeref she asked him to teach her magic not caring if it was good or dark magic. He did teach a little about Law but warned that it would take 10 years to perfect. She used Law to save Yuri and turned him back into a human but it cost her life. It was here Mavis was able to grow up and say goodbye to Zera and start her new life with new friends.
The reason why Yuri and Mavis’s friendship is so important to the manga is that without Yuri, Mavis would still be lonely on tenrou and only dream about exploring the world through the books she read. It’s almost like Mavis and Yuri really needed each other and they came together at the right time in their lives. Yuri was very- I wouldn’t say selfish but he only had one thing on his mind and that was to get the jewel for himself and doing so cost his friend his life. He swore to Zera that he would always protect Mavis no matter what and that’s what he did till his death. Mavis on her part was able to grow up from a small girl that had no family and created the guild that is known for always depending on each other and fighting for one another. Yuri might have seen Mavis almost like a little sister because they seemed to have the closest bond out of the original creators. He trusted her mind so much he allowed her to name his son and if that’s not friendship and love then I don’t know what is. Yuri and Mavis may have not had a very long time together but the time they did have was truly life-changing for one another.

Hey fairies! It’s Kagome and for my portion of this wonderful collab I’ll be discussing my two favorite pairings! That’s right it’s a tiny ship blog! These maybe be returning with help from the bandits so be prepared. There’s a lot of adorable friendships in Fairy Tail, both canon and non canon, but there’s two that have always been favorites of mine. I’ve spoken about them both in the past but I couldn’t resist doing it again >~< Well let’s hop to it!
Jellal and Meredy.

Although we don’t get to see much of their interactions, what we do get to see shows the two have formed a close bond. They give off a sibling vibe if they’re behavior at the Grand Magic Games is anything to go by. I get the feeling that the two tease each other every chance they get like siblings tend to do but will protect one another and be a shoulder for the other to lean on should they need it. That last point is evident when Jellal temporarily lost his sight and had to put all of his trust in Meredy. Our Jelly boy didn’t hesitate for a second showing their close bond. He had to put his complete and total trust in her and let her be his eyes. Just how a brother would be there for his little sister, Jellal was Meredy’s shoulder to cry on when they got Ultear’s letter after her ‘death.’ We all know that Ultear was more than a friend to Meredy, she was a sister and mother figure and losing her hit hard. She needed someone to be there for her and Jellal was her someone. Together they continued what the three of them had started and had a new reason to keep going. They needed to be there for each other just as Ultear would have wanted. Who knows, maybe it could have blossomed into something more than we got. It’s a relationship I really wish we got to see more of and honestly I would have liked to have seen them end up together, sorry Erza but they look adorable together. Still I’ll settle for their precious friendship.
Natsu and Lisanna

Whether you like her or not, we can’t ignore the fact that Natsu and Lisanna have such an adorable friendship! Having known each other since they were children they share a lot of precious memories together and it seemed they were pretty much inseparable growing up, right up until Lisanna was pulled into Edolas. Her departure hit the guild hard and left an impact on all of the . Through flashbacks we see that losing the one person he was closest to hit Natsu hard and lead him to be reluctant to get close to anyone before meeting Lucy. Natsu kept everyone at arms length in fears of losing someone again. Lucy changed that for him. Although he has Lucy now, we see that when Lisanna returned from Edolas her first instinct was to go hug Natsu, the friend she had left behind and he was more than happy to accept the hug. Throughout the series we see their bond is as strong as ever and Lisanna fully s Natsu’s choice to have Lucy by his side. Their affections have moved to other people but they remain irreplaceable friends in each other’s lives and hearts. They will always have love for one another but it’s definitely not the love it once was. They definitely have a more family relationship than romantic now but it’s still adorable nonetheless.
Juvia and Gajeel

Okay I know I said I was only going to talk about two relationships but I have to add this one! Juvia and Gajeel are such an underrated friendship that I’m adding this part last minute. Our queen of the sea and iron dragon have a had a decent bond since they ed Phantom Lord, sure they didn’t really interact with one another but they both knew they could rely on the other. It was an unspoken bond if you will. When they ed Fairy Tail things changed for the better. Fairy Tail, unlike Phantom Lord, openly express themselves and are proud to show off their friendships to the world. For Gajeel and Juvia, this meant they could finally it that they are in fact friends, not just guildmates who tolerate each other. For a long time Juvia and Gajeel felt as though they couldn’t trust anyone else except each other and this shows during their interactions. They openly insult each other, make jokes, know how scary the other can be and Gajeel is the only one uneffected by Juvia’s love for Gray. He just accepts that’s how she is and she accepts how he is, a little stand-offish but a good person nonetheless. We see them team up as though it’s the most natural thing in the world and well, for them it is. Similarly to the other relationships mentioned, I imagine these two have more of a sibling bond. Sure they may not go on many jobs together or relax in the guild together but the bond is there and it will always be there.

The Daily Fairy
Hello Hello Hello FTA and all of my fellow Fairies! Tis I, The Daily Fairy, and I bring you the biggest of Fairy Tail’s friendships. The strongest of them all, the one that reign supreme, the pinnacle of all of everything this series has given us-
THE FAIRY TAIL GUILD!

What? No I’m not cheating! This is a blog about friendship! The guild is literally just filled with multiple different friendships. From the bigger ones like Natsu and Gray, to the smaller ones like Laki and Kinana. These people all share a bond with each other that can’t be broken by anything. Let me explain- Fairy Tail’s prime principles revolve around bonds between its . Think of it like Ohana from Lilo and Stitch. Family means no one gets left behind, or forgotten. Those are the beliefs the guild stands by
Now, I’m sure you’re just screaming at your screens right now “WHERE’S THE FRIENDSHIP?!” And to that I say-
FAIR ENOUGH!

So, to make this short and as to not overshadow my other fellow bandits, I will be taking a few short looks at a popular Fairy Tail friendship, a moderately popular friendship, a headcannon friendship, and an underrated friendship. Keep in mind though, this is all my own personal opinion
Lucy and Cana

Ah yes- Two lovely ladies who one would think wouldn’t get along well, but actually have amazing chemistry. Funny how that works doesn’t it? Anyway, Lucy and Cana really started interacting during the Tenrou Island arc, and from there have grown to become closer as allies and guildmates. From the relations between them and their fathers, to how well the two work together in combat, to their cute little dialogue exchanges when drinking. They are truly a match made in heaven. I think my personal favorite thing about these two is just how much of a different dynamic they bring. Like I said before, from the surface, these two may seem like total opposites, but the way both of them operate on an emotional level resonate together like an orchestra. Loud and Boisterous, but with class-
Gray and Lyon

Ok, this one may be slightly cheating because Lyon isn’t a member of Fairy Tail, but Gray is so I count it! Ughhh- I love these two ice idiots whenever they interact! They both have so much snark when they speak to each other and it’s a constant need to sur the other, while also having a deep layer of respect for the others abilities as a mage. I think one of my favorite moments between these two is when they fight Historia Ur. Lyon, the older pupil of Ur, is conflicted fighting his former teacher. He spent so long trying to sur her and even knowing that he was a major component in her death killed him inside, so there were so many things going on in his head, but Gray does his best to bring his friend back to reality. He told him the path forward wasn’t an easy one, but that he had to take it now so he can get stronger. This defines these two as characters so well and it shows how much they have grown as people
Max and Warren

What? Don’t look at me like that! These two are literally best friends! Think about it. Are these two not around each other almost constantly?

It’s even confirmed that Max is the closest person to Warren. And I can honestly see why. Their chemistry with each other is honestly really fun to watch. Comedic gold whenever these two are on screen I swear. The best moment of theirs comes from the Alvarez arc when the guild finds out three of the Spriggan 12. Warren was too terrified to even speak, but then Max comes in an kicks him right where the sun don’t shine. Funny, but also appropriate considering the situation. Max and everyone else was just as scared, but Fairy Tail, their home was being threatened, and they had to protect it. It was then Warren was able to thank Max and could really begin the counterattack. This was just... amazing. Most characters like them don’t even get moments like these, but they did and I love every bit of it.
Romeo, Chelia, and Wendy

This is a bit of a mix between Canon and Headcannon. I’m sure we’ve all heard of Rowen and such, but what if we just got a legit friendship between all of these little beans? Would it not be adorable? Like- Imagine every Wendy and Chelia situation, but adding Romeo into the mix. The way I see it, it’s like those old child centric adventure movies like The Goonies or The Little Rascals. I could totally see all three of them going on a job together, getting into their own troubles, fighting Bandits and monsters all over. I also have this funny little idea of Romeo trying to be really brave and attempting to take on a monster on his own, but then Wendy and Chelia come in and take the win by accident. I NEED IT MAN! I NEED THIS TRIO OF ADORABLE LITTLE WIZARDS!!!
