It is generally accepted that the Minutemen ending is canon, with the twist that the Brotherhood leaves before the Minutemen eliminate them. So what do you think the Minutemen capital would be? Sanctuary Hills makes sense. It's where they were rebuilt. The Castle is also a historical location, but Diamond City and Quincy are major settlements.
Note: it is canon that Quincy is retaken by the Minutemen, and over time, it is repaired.

Sanctuary is perfect for redevelopment and with a functional vault nearby it would help immensely with infrastructure. There is plenty of land with few enemies.
Concord seem like a reasonable start for a provisional government then maybe some after years later of expanding and rebuilding make the city of Boston the capital
Sanctuary Hills and Quincy have one major flaw. They aren’t central. Diamond City is in the middle of the whole nation and is already a massive trading hub. Sanctuary Hills and Quincy are also very recent places with few people living there.
The Castle would make the least sense, considering how it’s just a military instillation.

I respect your opinion on that, but in my opinion, if it was the HQ of the Minutemen, and the Minutemen operate as a confederate union of settlements, then The Castle was therefore the capital of the Minutemen

Still doesn’t make much sense to have it at the Castle considering that it is so remote. More logically would be a neutral spot more centrally located.
The problem is not the synth being killed, the problem is the synth managing to shoot and kill every representative.

You have a point if one was to consider the issue of actually sending representatives from different settlements across the wasteland. I understand now
