So people wanted a part two for this!! And I mean I love writing my boys so who was I to say no

DISCLAIMER: I am not Jewish! I have no clue what Jewish Gehinnom and sheol are, and though I researched as much as I could, I may misrepresent it due to my lack of knowledge! Please don’t get too mad if I misuse information about it, I tried hard to get it right!

Even on his deathbed, Marvin hated change.

Every new nurse that visited his room was either too rough, too gentle. Too nice, too mean. He was too uncomfortable to actually enjoy his last days. The only person who knew exactly how to handle him was Charlotte. Of course she did. She was one of his best friends, and he had told her everything, which made it easier for her to accommodate to his feelings.

So there Charlotte was, istering a new IV bag to his stand.

“How are you feeling?” She asked, and Marvin drowsily peered up at the clock. Right at 4:00, which was just her timing. It was perfect every time.

“Okay,” he lied. He felt like his chest was collapsing in on him as he rasped soft, shallow breaths and watched her hang the new bag, discarding the empty one and going over to push his hair out of his eyes. He was sweating despite the freezing cold temperature in the hospital. He held up his hand to have her take it, and he saw the purplish bruises on his arms. He was getting worse, and he could see it as much as he could feel it. His face was red and blotchy, and he could see it in the reflection of his metal railing.

“Are you sure?” She asked.

“Yeah.” He nodded gently. “Are they coming soon?”

“Trina called and said they were on their way now. They were heading back from one of Jason’s baseball game, so he’s going to be here soon. Cordelia came down with a nasty cold, and Mendel had a couple of patients to see.”

“Okay… Can you wake me up when they get here?”

“I have some patients to see, Marv… can you stay awake for a while?”

He shrugged gently. “I’ll try… no promise.”

She nodded and walked away after he closed his eyes, him falling asleep merely a second after he said the contrary.

--

Jason was who woke Marvin up. He was sitting with his head lying on Marvin’s chest. Marvin gently brought a frail hand up to stroke the curly mess of Jason’s hair.

And by some way, somehow -- with no real explanation as to the semantics behind it -- he knew that he should say goodbye.

“Jason…” Marvin rasped gently. “Jason, look at me, kiddo…”

He looked up at him, eyes curious. “Yeah, Dad…?”

“I want you to behave for your mother, okay? And Mendel… just… that’s my last wish.”

“What do you mean…?” He caught on right after he said it, though, and he immediately sat up. “Dad, you don’t mean--”

“I just want you to be good, okay…? Can you do that for me…?”

“Dad…” he whimpered softly, resting his head on his father’s chest again, tears starting to fill his eyes and overflow, cascading down and hitting Marvin’s blanket.

This was another change.

Marvin was so sure that Jason wouldn’t have cried at him being gone.

He gently stroked his hair. “I love you, kid…”

“I love you, too, Dad…” he wasn’t ready to let go. Marvin could see it in his eyes, and in his gestures as he draped an arm over Marvin’s body in a half-hearted hug.

Trina approached him and gently sighed. “Marv--”

“Trina, I… I know now that what I did was… it wasn’t good. But even so… I still do love you. Even if it wasn’t the way I thought originally.”

“... I know Marv. I love you, too.” She gently leaned down and kissed his head. “Be safe on the way to Gehinnom.”

“Thank you…” he gently smiled. He felt… okay with this parting. He had his son here, and someone he loved. It may not have been Whizzer, or the love Whizzer provided, but it was true, domestic love.

He closed his eyes, and he could no longer hear or see. He was gone.

Marvin’s grave was right next to Whizzer’s. A denouement at its finest.

At least, Jason could agree.

--

Marvin spent his twelve months in Gehinnom. He knew it was the only way for him to get to reside finally in sheol. Which was where hopefully Whizzer would reside when he got there as well.

He finally found his way. It was everything he could have dreamt of. Beautiful people walking the streets. They were happy. He was with the righteous, those who were good and had been sent on. They were the closest to the sort of “Heaven” that anyone would get.

But only one person was on his mind.

He roamed his sheol tirelessly for the what could have been hours, minutes, days -- anything. There was no sense of time here. Marvin continued to search through the streets of his sheol, and he came to a stop in front of a sort of area, littered with tables and chairs. They were all pristine, clean, and full. They were occupied by people who chatted among the other righteous shades.

There, in white, across the way.

Marvin caught sight of him before he caught sight of Marvin. He started making his way through the busy seating area, swerving past people and pushing past tables. He had tears in his eyes, and he said his name. The name that changed his life.

“Whizzer!”

The figure looked up, and god he was beautiful. Beyond just beautiful, he looked downright ethereal. Marvin couldn’t believe what he was seeing. This ghostly figure, this righteous shade, this--

“Marvin!”

He’d recognized him and met him halfway. They embraced each other in a flurry of laughter, and Marvin felt like he’d lose Whizzer again if he let go.

So he didn’t.

“Whizzer, oh my god…” he whispered softly, holding onto him tightly. Tears streamed down his face, and Whizzer gently brought his hands up, wiping Marvin’s tears with the gentleness of a feather. He smiled, and the whole world seemed to sway.

“I missed you, Marvin…” he crooned, pressing their foreheads together.

Both of them looked like former versions of themselves, when they weren’t emaciated and incapacitated in a medical facility. Marvin loved it. They were back to a certain kind of normal that he couldn’t help but be ecstatic over.

“Marvin…?”

Marvin was knocked from his reverie with the sound of Whizzer’s voice, pure, clean, and light.

“Yeah?” He looked up at him, smiling as he stared up into the gentle brown eyes of his lover.

“I love you.”

Marvin gently rested his head against Whizzer’s chest. He felt complete.

“I love you, too…”
